The Detroit Lions won't make a restricted free agent tender offer to linebacker Ashlee Palmer, according to Yahoo.com. Palmer played all 16 games and contributed mostly on special teams for the Lions each of the last two years. Had he been tendered, he would have been guaranteed a one-year deal worth about $1.3 million, a steep price for a backup on a team with salary-cap issues. Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said Friday the team was “still discussing†its restricted free agent tenders. Along with Palmer, linebacker DeAndre Levy, defensive tackle Sammie Hill and offensive tackle Corey Hilliard will be restricted free agents next month. Source: Detroit Free Press
