Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was fined more than $16,000 by the league Wednesday for two separate incidents — a face mask and an unnecessary roughness call, Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review reports. Brown was penalized on both plays. The first fine was result of a third-quarter punt return when Brown stiff-armed Chicago's Sherrick McManis as he was going out of bounds after a short return. The other came because of a late hit on Chicago safety Chris Conte after an interception late in the game, Brown was penalized 15 yards on that play, as well. Brown, who caught a nine passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns in the 40-23 loss to the Bears, will appeal both fines. Source:The Redzone
Some of the penalties they have come up with make no sense.... High School Player Penalized For Spectacular Touchdown Run what purpose does it serve?
I don't remember the hit ... But I'd like to see it. The stiff arm to the face mask fine is dumb...no doubt.
