The National Football League has increased the off-season roster limit from 80 players to 90 players, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced on Monday. The new roster limit go into effect at 4pm ET on Tuesday, April 24. NFL teams will still have to cut down to 75 players after the third preseason weekend, Aiello added, and the 90-player limit will include active, inactive, practice squad, roster exemptions/reserve lists, unsigned draft choices and franchised players. Today's announcement should come as good news to NFL coaches, personnel executives and agents, who just gained some additional roster spots over the next few months. Currently, there are over 450 roster spots open, 253 of which were to be absorbed by the NFL Draft. Source: Mac's Football Blog
