OK, jennings was up until this past weeks bye then, he still deserves mention.....Favre needs to be replaced with Rodgers and I'd replace Rivers with someone breathing. Maybe Big Ben or Marshawn Lynch?

No recievers ever deserve to be on the list since they never have a chance at winning.

Ok but who is even coming anywhere close to that this year?

With a truly amazing season a WR can win it but they are always seen as being far behind the runners and Qbs unless they do something really special.

Randy Moss did it last year and only got like...what? 2 votes?

    86WARD -

Since 1957 a WR has never won an AP MVP award. So no, Rice never won it.

In 1987, Rice won the Pro Football Writers MVP.

Normally, the AP one is the one that is the NFL MVP.

yeah that's because his quarterback was a guy named tom brady

hello, why isn't Kurt Warner's name being mentioned here?

Through 7 games, he is second in completions (184), third in attempts (262), first in completion percentage (70.2%), second in passing yards (2,089), tied for fourth in touchdowns (14), and has thrown 6 interceptions. His passer rating is third in the league (102.1). He has led his team to a 4-3 record and first place in the NFC West.

He should definitely get more than just one vote. Brees also deserves more votes; it's much easier to play running back than quarterback.

    Here are Brees' stats:

Through 7 games he is first in completions (210) and attempts (3040), third in completion percentage (69.1%), first in passing yards (2,563), tied for second in touchdowns (15), and has thrown 6 interceptions. His passer rating is fourth in the league (101.6). He has led his team to a 4-4 record in a tough division. The Saints are in fourth place and are only two games back of the division-leading Panthers. Brees is on pace for over 5,000 passing yards.

Rivers has thrown for over 2,000 yards and leads the league with 19 touchdowns and a passer rating of 107.8.

I really think these 3 warrant more attention and votes, and I think Brees or Warner gets it ahead of Portis, despite his spectacular numbers, because their numbers are just as spectacular, proportionately.

Voted for Brees, a huge part of the reason is just because he's helping my FF team and all.
