The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a one-year deal with tight end Matthew Mulligan, a league source confirmed Sunday.

A 6-foot-4, 265-pound fifth-year player out of the University of Maine, Mulligan has played in 16 games in each of the last two seasons.

Mulligan, 28, came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2008 before being signed to Tennessee’s practice squad and spending portions of the next three seasons with the New York Jets.

Mulligan signed a two-year deal with the St. Louis Rams last offseason after not being tendered a restricted free-agent contract from the Jets before being released last month.

A veteran of 50 NFL games. Mulligan has primarily been utilized as a run- and pass-blocking tight end.
