The Carolina Panthers announced that rookie offensive lineman Bryant Browning has been placed on injured reserve. Originally signed by the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State, Browning was waived by the Rams in early August and claimed by the Panthers. Browning appeared in four games for the Panthers during the 2011 preseason and had been on the practice squad since the start of the season before he promoted on December 2. Browning made his NFL debut last Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, but was downgraded from "Questionable" to "Out" for tomorrow's game against the Houston Texans with a wrist injury. To replace Browning, the Panthers have promoted center Jeff Byers from the practice squad.
