Carolina Panthers wide receiver/kick return Kealoha Pilares has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week, the team announced on Tuesday. Pilares had a 101-yard kick return for a touchdown in the Panthers' 49-35 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The return was the longest in Panthers' history. A fifth-round pick out of Hawaii, Pilares had averaged 24 yards on 10 returns, with a long of 27 yards, prior to Sunday's 101-yard effort. Pilares is now averaging 26.2 yards per return on the season.
