The Dolphins may have some competition if they decide they want to hire Al Groh for their vacant defensive coordinator position. After New England coach Bill Belichick reportedly fired his defensive coordinator, Dean Pees, on Thursday, he may decide he’d like to take a run at Groh himself. Groh’s ties to Bill Parcells, the Dolphins VP of football operations, have been well documented but Groh also has a history with Belichick, working under him as New York Giants linebackers coach from 1989-90 and being hired by him as an assistant when Belichick got his first head coaching job in Cleveland in 1992.
