Facing the potential of not having Logan Mankins (hip) available for Sunday's game in Buffalo, the Patriots have added an offensive lineman to the roster spot that opened when Kellen Winslow was released.

Only it wasn't one of the three linemen they already had on practice squad - New England re-signed Matt Tennant. A former Boston College player, Tennant was claimed off waivers from the Saints on Sept. 1 but was released just three days later.

The team announced he will wear No. 69 and may be active vs. the Bills.
