Scott Wells practiced on Wednesday, but the St. Louis Rams center might not be back in action this week against the New York Jets. Nevertheless, head coach Jeff Fisher sounded a positive note about the progress of his veteran lineman when speaking to the media after practice. "He's coming along well," Fisher said of Wells. "He did a little bit more." As for Wells' status for the upcoming game, Fisher would only say, "we'll just have to wait toward the end of the week." Wells resumed practicing following the team's Week 9 bye. Under the rules of the league's new designated for return injured reserve spot, the Rams have three weeks from the time he resumes practicing to put him on the active roster or stick him on the shelf for good.
