The Steven Jackson retirement rumor started by Steven Jackson has been quashed by -- wait for it -- Steven Jackson. Shortly after the St. Louis Rams ended their season with a 20-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Jackson confirmed he plans to return for a 10th NFL season. "I definitely plan on coming back," he said, via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Jackson, 29, finished with 1,042 yards on the season, becoming the sixth player in NFL history to post eight consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. Jackson averaged 4.1 yards-per-carry on 257 touches, proving nearly 2,400 career carries haven't sapped him of his ability. Jackson is expected to void the $7 million player option remaining on his contract to test the open market. Source: NFL.com
