Left tackle Trent Williams was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam after hurting his right knee during the Washington Redskins’ loss Sunday to the Cincinnati Bengals in their home opener at FedEx Field.

“No one plays this game injury-free,†Williams said. “It’s part of the game. You take the good with the bad.â€

Asked whether he’s fearful the injury is serious, Williams replied simply: “No.â€

Williams was hurt on the Redskins’ second offensive play, a run by tailback Alfred Morris.

He was taken to the locker room during the first half but returned to the sideline soon thereafter and re-entered the game. He started the second half but left the game for good after only a few plays. Jordan Black replaced Williams at left tackle.

“I could go left,†Williams said. “I just had trouble going right. I didn’t really want to risk giving up a big quarterback hit. Just precautionary reasons.â€
