The Washington Redskins have one less player in their crowded backfield. The team has released former starting running back Tim Hightower, according to multiple D.C.-based news outlets. Hightower was the Redskins’ No. 1 back for the first five games of the 2011 season before suffering a torn ACL in his left knee. He was still on the recovery road after reconstructive surgery.
