Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III‘s long wait for action in 11-on-11 action came to an end Wednesday afternoon as the quarterback took 16 snaps against a full defense for the first time since receiving medical clearance to return from rehabilitation from knee surgery, MIke Jones of the Washington Post reports.

Griffin completed 7 of 10 passes for 101 yards and threw one interception. He also handed the ball off six times.

Griffin previously had been limited to seven-on-seven drills, working with wide receivers, tight ends and running backs against defensive backs and linebackers, but without any offensive and defensive lines.

On Wednesday, Coach Mike Shanahan cleared him to move onto the next phase in his return from reconstructive surgery in January.
