Saints weakside linebacker David Hawthorne, who returned for the season opener after having arthroscopic knee surgery in mid-August, will not play Sunday at Green Bay because of a hamstring injury.

Hawthorne pulled his right hamstring in the first half of last Sunday’s game with the Kansas City Chiefs and was ruled out Friday by interim coach Aaron Kromer after missing practice for a third straight day.

Also out will be linebacker Jonathan Casillas, who would have probably taken Hawthorne’s spot in the starting lineup. Casillas suffered a neck injury against the Chiefs and did not participate in practice this week.

As of Friday, the Saints had only four healthy linebackers on the active roster — Curtis Lofton, Scott Shanle, Will Herring and Barrett Ruud.
