Last season, the New Orleans Saints were chasing numerous NFL single-season offensive yardage records. This year, the defense made its own yardage history Sunday as the Saints became the single-season record holder for most yards allowed in NFL history.

The Saints passed the 1981 Baltimore Colts as the worst in total defense for one season in league history with less than two minutes remaining in the first half on an 11-yard catch by Panthers tight end Greg Olsen. The Colts allowed 6,793 yards in 1981.
