NFL Network’s Scott Hanson provided a look at his NFC playoff seeding possibilities chart. We break down the 49ers numbers.

NFL Network's Scott Hanson will be a busy man this Sunday on the Red Zone channel. Of the eight NFC divisional games on Sunday, six have playoff implications. Only Lions-Vikings and Washington-Giants have no bearing on the playoff picture. Only one of the games involved takes place in the 10 a.m. ET slot. Panthers-Falcons will wrap up first. If the Panthers win, they lock up the No. 2 seed. If the Panthers lose, they must wait for the Saints, Seahawks and 49ers to determine exactly where they will be situated.

Then the afternoon starts. The 1:25 time slot features 49ers-Cardinals, Rams-Seahawks, Packers-Bears and Buccaneers-Saints. Even if the Panthers, all four games have playoff implications. The evening wraps up with the Eagles and Cowboys playing on Sunday Night Football to determine the NFC West winner.

Friday afternoon, Hanson tweeted out the chart pictured above. Based on the remaining six pertinent NFC games, there are 64 different possibilities for playoff seeding. The 49ers have clinched a playoff berth, but as this grid shows, there are a whole host of possible scenarios. Based on what we see here, half the series of results (32) net them the No. 5 seed. An additional 16 results net them the No. 6 seed. Eight series of results net them the No. 1 seed and eight net them the No. 2 seed. None net them a No. 3 or No. 4 seed.
