Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman had his appeal heard by the NFL on Friday and won't have a ruling on said appeal until next week, clearing him to play Sunday night against the 49ers.

Whether or not Sherman can overturn his appeal remains to be seen, but he's at least reportedly got a pretty good argument: The seal on his specimen cup was broken. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Sherman claims that his "urine specimen cup was leaking, prompting the collector to place a second cup underneath it to capture any leakage."

This second cup, according to Sherman, already had a broken seal. Sherman's argument is that the chain of custody, and therefore the validity of his positive test for Adderall, is null and void.
