The Seahawks are off the field following their Monday practice, their first in preparation for the season opener at Carolina Sunday.

And the only players coach Pete Carroll ruled out were defensive end Chris Clemons, and — it appeared anyway — defensive tackle Jordan Hill.

Clemons was a somewhat surprise inclusion on the active roster as he has yet to practice while rehabbing an ACL injury.

But Carroll said he will practice Wednesday to begin the next phase of his recovery.

“He’s had a great preparation to get back and it will be light on Wednesday,†Carroll said. “But he has been really busting it so we will just bring him along and take our time, and the tune we have been telling you hasn’t changed, we are going to take our time and make sure he is ready to go. He will not be in consideration for this weekend, but we are really excited that he is back out and we’ll see how it goes.’’

Of Hill, out the last two weeks with a shoulder injury, Carroll said there is no timeline for when he may return.

“He’s feeling way better and getting closer and I don’t know when it’s going to be,†he said. “But it’s not going to be a long time before he gets back.’’
