Steelers linebacker James Harrison and safety Troy Polamalu have been declared out for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders.

Harrison, who sat out the entire preseason and each of Pittsburgh's two games this season with a left knee injury, missed his second straight week of practice as he recovers from arthroscopic surgery on Aug. 15.

Polamalu will miss his second straight game with a strained right calf suffered in Pittsburgh's season-opening loss to the Denver Broncos.

Running back Rashard Mendenhall, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Pittsburgh's final game of the 2011 season, and linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (knee) will also miss the game, while offensive tackle Mike Adams (back) is listed as questionable.

Running back Jonathan Dwyer (toe), offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert (groin), quarterback Byron Leftwich (illness), tight end Heath Miller (abdomen) and wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders (knee) and Mike Wallace (groin) are probable for Sunday.
