Todd Bowles is having the best season of any coordinator in the NFL. We know it. You know it. The Arizona Cardinals certainly know it. Now, the team is making sure Bowles knows how much it values his mastery. The Cards and the defensive coordinator have agreed to extend his contract through 2017, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the deal. Pro Football Talk first reported the news. The extension does not preclude Bowles from pursuing a head coaching job.[More] http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...owles-cardinals-strike-extension-through-2017
What's the point of giving an extension to a coordinator, if he can still walk if offered a head coaching job?
Huge bucks + secutity might be enough for Bowles to turn down any HC offer. Financial terms were not disclosed other than it's for $1MM+. Good OC's and DC's still make less than the lowest paid players on a team, which is a joke.
Shouda, woulda, coulda. Would Bowles make a good head coach? I really don't know. There's probably a few, but the only defensive coordinator that I can think of that was a highly successful HC is Bill Cowher.
