As the investigation continues into a shooting at a Virginia Beach birthday party for Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Michael Vick, former NFL coach Tony Dungy is sticking up for him. Dungy has been a mentor to Vick, who served 20 months for a federal dogfighting conviction. Although it's unclear how Dungy would know about Vick's guilt or innocence since he wasn't at the party, Dungy made the following comment to the Associated Press: "The only thing he is guilty of is using bad judgment and attending and publicizing parties open to the public and utilizing his name to get people there. Hopefully he learns from this." Although Vick's lawyer, Lawrence Woodward, has said that Vick wasn't present during the shooting of Quanis Phillips, the restaurant's surveillance video apparently conflicts with that account.
