On Tuesday, the city of Santa Clara will vote on a new $937 million for the 49ers according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. A "yes" vote on Measure J would require $114 million from Santa Clara, most of it from redevelopment funds and a hotel tax hike. If the measure is approved, groundbreaking is planned to begin in January 2012, and the 68,500-seat facility would open for the 2014 season. The stadium, replacing Candlestick Park, would be built adjacent to California's Great America theme park.
