Hey Dallas, what's up? On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys beat the Redskins by a score of 24-23. A few hours later, they were likely shaking their heads with worry. The Eagles absolutely dismantled the Bears, in a game that actually meant more for Chicago than Philadelphia. In the last home game of the regular season, the Eagles not only embarrassed the Bears, but sent a warning shot to all other challengers. More: Follow Mike Kaye on Twitter Follow BGN Radio on Twitter The Eagles played a complete game and won 54-11 against the Bears. Philadelphia's offense showed up with four touchdowns spread out between three separate running backs and a total of 289 rushing yards. The passing game also turned it on with quarterback Nick Foles completing 21-of-25 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns. However, they were not alone. The defense dominated a vaunted Chicago offense. The Eagles had five sacks, an interception for a touchdown, a safety and a two forced fumbles (one on special teams). Trent Cole looked like a man possessed with three sacks, while Mychal Kendricks had two sacks and a forced fumble. Defensive end Cedric Thornton continued to show he is possibly the most dominant run-defending 3-4 lineman in the NFL. This was a complete win in every sense. HOT Chip Kelly: He is a genius and really finds a way to shut up critics in a way that it is almost funny. He had the perfect gameplan and really allowed for the Eagles to rebound from the putrid Vikings game. Billy Davis: 11 points allowed, and 9 points scored. The third time seems to have been the charm for Davis as a defensive coordinator, as this unit has been very good in nine of the last 10 games. Nick Foles: Despite two early awkward passes for extremely positive results, Foles made very good decisions. At 21-of-25 for 230 yards and two touchdowns, Foles had his seventh 100 or more passer rating in his nine starts. He is currently 7-2 as a starter and 8-2 when playing the majority of a game. He also continued to show great mobility in the pocket. He set the franchise record for completion percentage in a game. No big deal, just "Vote For Pedro" and what not. The Offensive Line: Center Jason Kelce played the game of his career on Sunday night. His lead blocks on the run and his blocking for the pass were absolutely fantastic. Evan Mathis and Jason Peters continued to hold down the fort on the left side, while Todd Herremans and Lane Johnson secured the right side. The line was dominant. LeSean McCoy: This is the best running back in the league. He was sensational in an effort that saw him gain 133 yards on the ground and another 29 yards through the air. He definitely showed his shiftiness on Sunday night, especially on a nasty touchdown run where he tortured Julius Peppers ankles. He had two touchdowns on the game but likely could have gone for more yards and touchdowns if Chip Kelly was a jerk. Shady had 7.4 yards per carry on 18 runs (What?). Bryce Brown and Chris Polk: The backup running back tandem shared the honors of solo touchdowns. Brown played easily his best game of the season and rushed for 115 yards on nine carries and had a score. His 65-yard run for a touchdown was demoralizing to the Bears, who still had their starters in against the Eagles backups. Polk continues to show he can do well with limited touches. The former Washington star had two carries for 12 yards and a touchdown, while adding eight yards off a reception. Tight Ends: Brent Celek, Zach Ertz and James Casey all showed up as blockers on Sunday. Ertz had a major catch on the Eagles second touchdown drive, while Celek had a few good grabs and a score. Unfortunately, Celek fumbled for the second time in his seven year career. Yes, you read that correctly. DeSean Jackson: While he did not make a huge difference in the stat column, Jackson did some nice things. He ran twice for 12 yards and collected 29 yards on four catches. He got first downs and that really all he needed to do in this one. Riley Cooper: Wow! What has this guy turned into? Well, a number two wide receiver. Can he be upgraded? Sure, but why fix what isn't broken? He is going to make money this offseason, but hopefully it will be in Philadelphia. He has been tremendous as a blocker and has turned into a productive redzone wide receiver. He had three catches for 53 yards and the Eagles first score of the game. Trent Cole: The veteran was able to pass by Clyde Simmons for second all-time on the Eagles sack list on Sunday. The transition to a 3-4 outside linebacker has not been easy for Cole, but he has come on in the second half of the season. He had three sacks and looked downright dominant against the Bears offensive line. Put his hand down or have him stunt, and he has a big chance of making a play. Cedric Thornton: This is the defensive find of the Howie Roseman Era. He may be the best defensive player on the team and his run defense is unbelievable. He had a few tackles for losses and a safety in this game. This front seven is going to be scary for a while. Brandon Boykin: The slot cornerback was everywhere on Sunday. He scored on a pick six late in the game and really showed up after suffering a concussion against the Vikings. Bradley Fletcher: The cornerback forced a fumble on special teams which was recovered by the Eagles and set up their second score. He also kept Alshon Jeffery in check for most of the night. It was a very positive performance. Cary Williams: He is likely the most polarizing player on the defense and Sunday night it was for good reason. Williams came ready to play and really owned the matchup against Brandon Marshall for the majority of the game. He obviously likes a challenge. His passion was definitely on displayed and likely got the unit hyped up. He recovered the forced fumble of Devin Hester by Fletcher. Nate Allen, Earl Wolff and even Pat Chung: This unit really rebounded with the return of Wolff. Chung made some plays, Allen was solid and Wolff played well. What a difference a Wolff makes?!?!? Mychal Kendricks: He got a game ball from the NBC Sunday Night Football crew and deserved it. He had a forced fumble and two sacks. He is really starting to develop into a playmaker. Special Teams: The unit forced a fumble and held Devin Hester in check all night. Donnie Jones continued to pin opponents deep in their territory and Alex Henery made a 49-yard field goal. It was a very solid rebound for Dave Fipp's group. Eagles Home Crowd: From a TV perspective, the fans were absolutely awesome. Well done. NOT The Bears: Chicago fans have to be sick over this performance. A win would have meant the division and likely the third seed in the playoffs. The game meant more to Chicago than Philadelphia, yet the Eagles outright kicked their butts. A team with the best wide receiver tandem and a solid veteran quarterback, did nothing to make their fans feel good about next week against the Packers. Pat Shurmur: It was another rough night for challenging from the booth. Shurmur should know better than to have Kelly throw a challenge flag on a play that was already going to be reviewed. Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth: I understand a blowout in Week 16 does nothing for commentators, but as a veteran crew, they should be able to improvise. This may have been the most boring call of a historic beating in some time. Typically, a crew could discuss the fact that both teams involved would be playing for their playoff lives in just seven days. Miscellaneous Musings It is unfortunate the Redskins could not spoil the party for the Cowboys on Sunday. That said, this may be one of the more exciting games in Eagles recent history in Week 17. If the Eagles win in Week 17, they get the number three seed. If the Eagles get to the NFC Championship game and the Seahawks are eliminated prior to that round, Philadelphia will host the game before the Super Bowl in New Jersey. Who would have thought this paragraph would be written headed into training camp? Back-to-back games of extremes means that a lot of Eagles fans may hold back on their confidence, but you should be greatly encouraged by this performance. Bring on Dallas!
