Biggest regular season game in Cards' history. A Cards win would give them home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. A loss and they hit the road. The media has been pounding the fact that the Cards are on their 3rd or 4th string QB and they're playing backup RB's. While it may true, it's no excuse if they should lose. The defense has pretty much gotten the Cards to the position they're in now and for the first time in 8 weeks they're all healthy. Unless there's some kind of unexpected play by Lindley, the defense will probably have to score. The keys for the Cards tonight to have any realistic chance is containing Wilson and a solid running game. If they let Wilson run amok or the Cards are stuffed at the line of scrimmage, it's gonna be a long night. I do think Seattle will win the game, but they'll be no excuses from this Cards fan if they do.
1. A healthy Arizona defense gave up 596 yards 2. Wilson ran for 88 yards (with one run of 55 yards and another for 27 yards.) 3. Cards rushed for a total of 29 yards. Ryan Lindley (18 for 44 and 216 yds). While this type of performance was expected, the degree of his misses were and always have been mind boggling. He continued to throw 3-5 feet over receiver's heads, miss wide open targets and throw into double coverage. God bless Lindley and Arians, but facts are facts.....this young man just doesn't have it to be an NFL QB. This one was on the Cards' defense pure and simple. The Cards' defense had done what they were suppose to do up to 7:30 left to play in the 2nd quarter. With the Cards up 3-0 the vaunted Cards' secondary allowed a tight end to get behind the coverage and take it 80 yards to the house. On the next Seattle possession the defense missed a tackle on 3rd and long allowing Wilson to scamper for 55-yards and an eventual TD. 14-3 at half and the game was all but over. 21 point in the 3rd and it was over. But at least the Cards' defense will be in film highlights for years to come after allowing Lynch to run for a 79 yard TD. Watching everyone (especially Patrick Peterson) trying to tackle him high and him swatting them off like bugs was hilarious. Kudo's to the Seahawks. The far better team won this game.
There is no shame in losing to the Seahawks right now. They are playing better than anyone the past several weeks
