Kiffin completes his first year, wants to fire Rob Ryan, and Al Davis denies it and now word is, Kiffin might be the one gone. It's as bad as dumping John black from Days of our Lives just because Kiffin seemed to 'pout' about retaining Rob Ryan. Much as I don't like the Raiders, even I find it makes no sense to fire Lane Kiffin.
It's sad that not one Raiders head coach since Jon Gruden has lasted more then two years as the team's head coach. Bill Callahan: 2 years Norv Turner: 2 years Art Shell: 1 year Lane Kiffin: One year done with his contract and doesn't have a contract past the 2008 season if he makes it that far.
If they can pull off a miracle and get Mcfadden in the draft the future would look even better for the Silver and Black. Russell and Mcafadden would go along way to rebuilding that offense with playmakers. It makes no sense to fire Kiffin now, but everything Al does makes little sense.
As someone mentioned that Kiffins contract runs out after 08, anybody think that Al Davis might be using Ryan as a tool i n getting a longer contract signed?
Its pretty tough not to improve the year after being the worst team in the league, but yeah, Kiffin deserves another year.
