Some simple things we ask of you here in our start sit question and answer forum.

  1. Do not list your entire roster and ask us who to start or sit. We can’t help you if you don’t first help yourself. Please limit the question to one or two positions.
  2. Ask your start sit question in this format: Player name, opponent and point configuration. An example: Should I start Aaron Rogers versus the Bears or Brady versus Detroit? Standard scoring. Another Example: Should I start Welker versus Baltimore or Fitz versus Seattle? PPR scoring. Try to keep the start sit question clear and to the point. It also helps to list your players opponent and your scoring format.
  3. Start or sit questions and answers can be answered by anyone here so if you have the clear path to the correct answer please speak up and post your comment!

joeizgodtou – posted the below questions right as I was deleting all the old start sit questions and answers. – so here he Joe's question along with my start sit answer.

"GUYS QUICK!! I have an emergency pick! Like an idiot i sat ray rice yesterday and started LT in my flex spot. Now Im losing by 18 points. I have Eddie Royal i can put in place of him. Should I keep LT in that flex spot or put in Eddie Royal? Im thinking I should take out LT and put in Eddie Royal, what do you guys think?"

I say start LT as he could pull off 2 TD's – as a RB he will touch the ball more and have more opportunities to make it happen for you!
Royal is a good start but I don't think he stands a chance to get you 18 points, not with Brandon Marshall getting all the TD love and the Bronco's top rated rushing attack getting plenty of goal line work.

  2. joeizgodtou says:

but you are right i dont know what im thinkin, i want to beat this guy so bad you have no idea, thanks for the advice guys

  3. Fantasy Rookie says:

Miles Austin and Austin Collie are both available in my league, should I dump Coffee for one of them? I am already pretty good with receivers: Andre Johnson, Fitz and just picked up Crabtree. I am not too good on running backs though. Marshawn Lynch, Coffee, W. McGahee and Hightower. Would anybody recommend pick ups that may still be out there, Like Ricky Williams? Thanks for your help

    • Ray04 says:

I would definitly pick up Austin. Last year he was killing in Fantasy before being relegated to the bench. This year he usurped the 3 WR spot away from Crayton so he is obvisouly moving forward in a big way.

  4. Ryan says:

Should I start Choice as a flex against ATL, or start Olsen against CIN instead? (standard scoring)… Thanks!

  5. Don't drop Coffee as the rookie should be a RB2 used extensively during fantasy playoff weeks to rest Gore for next season. He might even start in week 7 if Gore isn't fully ready. When A Gonzalez returns, likely week 8, forget about Collie and Garcon. Choice should be getting half of the carriers, since Barber will be slowed for 10 weeks and lacks ability to burst a long play now. They were sorry to overplay him last week and see this, so Choice is a far better option at flex then Olsen who lacks athletic agility to leap up high and make great grabs and focuses on their vertical passing game at TE.

    • Ray04 says:

I have to disagree with this one. Choice will no doubt see more playing time as he has earned it, but he is still only good for 15 to 18 carries a game and Barber is still number one inside the 10 which is important for Standard leagues; they won't just simply cut down Barber's workload considering he is the number one guy by performance AND contract. The Bears have already commited to getting Olsen the ball more, and offensive coordinator Ron Turner was quoted as saying 'he could be our top reciever by the end of the year."
Atlanta is ranked 11th against the run and ranked 18th against WR1 18th against WR2 and 11th against WR3 and other; the Cowboys are looking to pass in this one.

  6. steve says:

i have pierre thomas, tomlinson, westbrook, t. choice, and l. mccoy and 2 open rb spots and a flex. which 3 should i go with

    • Ray04 says:

You don't have any WR available for flex? If not, L.T vs. a horrid KC defense and both Eagles back against Washington.

      ,

    • Chris Todish says:

I would go with Thomas, Tomlinson and Westbrook, I know that there has been some disappointment with those players, but your best chance for production might be them for another week. Hopefully Tomlinson does something for your lineup, he has been terrible so far but has the potential for a big game against KC.

  7. Thig Nat says:

Which 3 RB's should I play out of these 4: (Mendenall vs Minn), (Gore vs Hou), (Slaton vs SF)and (Grant vs Cle)?

    • Derek says:

Gore since he's had 2 weeks to prep for them and they have bad run D. Grant cuz the browns suck. Slaton just because Mendenhall is no Ray Rice and Big Ben has been pass happy as of late.

    • Ray04 says:

Grant vs. a weak Cleveland D is a great start. Slanton has finally found his mojo making him a good start vs. Hou and Gore definitlely, he is good to go and reeling at the chance.

  8. Derek says:

Olsen or V. Davis as my TE this week?

    • Chris Todish says:

I would ride the hot-hand of Davis, he is the main target in the passing-game, I can't say the same for Olsen.

  9. AP says:

    RB Question:
I have Barber and Choice (v ATL), T Jones (OAK) and Sammie Morris (TB) and am not sure which two to start.

I’d love to use Morris with the TB match-up but injury news is always fuzzy out of New England so that’ll probably have to be a game time decision.

Jones has been great lately but I’m wondering if this is the week it’ll stop – although an Oakland match-up is also pretty tasty.

Barber or Choice. I’m waiting for Barber to have that breakout game since returning, do you all think this will be the week? Choice has been such a great option. I’m also monitoring the return of Felix Jones which would certainly change things.

    Thanks!

    • Shappy says:

How can you NOT start Thomas Jones man??? Guy killed it last week and goes against one of the worst teams in the league. Jets are scaling back the throwing offense cuz Sanchez sucks so they will be running first. Also, they should win by a ton and will need to run out the clock. Jones is the clear favorite

    • Chris Todish says:

Start Jones and Barber if you want clear-cut roles with opportunity in your lineup, it's not far fetched that your other RB's do something, but I would go with those two.

  10. Shappy says:

I need one more WR. Who do i start from: Santonio Holmes, Austin Collie, or Johnny Knox

  11. Nick F. says:

I have to start 2 of the 3. I know its not great, but the byes this week are killing me.

Glen Coffee, Lance Moore, Jeremy Maclin.

  12. sanchez says:

    Need help for Week 7
RBs – Pick 2 – Westbrook, McCoy, Slaton, Forte, S. Morris
I like Westbrook this week and probably Slaton. Who knows if Forte will show up and the Pats aren't saying anything about Morris.
    WRs – Pick 3 – M. Colston, C. Johnson, S. Breaston, H. Nicks, J. Maclin, E. Royal, K. Walter
I'm thinking Colston, Nicks, and Breaston…What do you think?

  13. Mark says:

Good mornning gentlemen, Here is my question (s)….

    1) Who should I start at TE, Kellen Winslow, or Zak Millar?

2)Who should I start in my Flex, Bernard Berrian, Steve Smith (CAR), or Miles Austin?

Fyi – I have Reggie Wayne and Roddie White as my starting WR.

    Thanks!

  14. RedZone says:

    Addai, Barber or Hightower

    Kevin Walter or B. Berrian

    PPR league ….Thanks

  15. Ray04 says:

    Start Addai and Berrian.

  16. Dan says:

should i start Thomas Jones and/or Leon Washington at Oakland, M. Turner at DAL or C. Williams at NE. I have two RB slots and a WR/RB flex that i could use to start Pierre Garcon at StL instead of a third back.
Basically, are Turner and WIlliams washed up and is it a bad idea to start the Jets RBBC together?
    Standard Scoring.
    Thank

  17. Dan says:

Sorry for the double post…just noticed something…i already own Garcon in my standard scoring league, but i notice Collie is on the wire…stay with garcon or pick up collie instead?

  18. Andrew says:

Guys, I am being forced to start Mark Sanchez, I need to make sure everything else goes smoothly

First question should I start Pierre Thomas (Saints), vs the tough run defense of the Dolphins (and Mike Bell may continue to steal carries) or the underachieving Larry Johnson (Chiefs) vs the weak run defense of the San Diego Chargers?

Secondly, I know I must start Marques Colston, But should I go with Steve Breaston (Cardinals) vs the New York Giants, Roy Williams (Cowboys) vs the Atlanta Falcons, Austin Collie (Colts) vs the St. Louis Rams, or Hakeem Nicks (Giants) vs. the Arizona Cardinals for my last two spots?

    Standard Scoring

    • Top_Fantasy says:

man I like Steve Breaston and Collie -

Steve Breaston is the real deal and Boldin might not even start (injury) which makes Steve Breaston even better.

  19. Ray04 says:

I would pick up Collie, his production is slightly better in yards ( 228 to 216 ) and TDs (3 to 2 )

  20. Ray04 says:

I would start L.J. since Bell took over for goaline scores making Thomas not that worthy in Standard leagues this week against the Dolphins wo are ranked third.

I would definitly go with Williams and Collie as your other two recievers.

  21. Shappy says:

I need one more WR. Who do i start from: Santonio Holmes (MN), Austin Collie (STL), or Johnny Knox (CIN)

  22. Mark says:

    Guys,

One more question…. Who should I start at RB – S. Slaton (SF) / Donald Brown (Stl) / or LT (KC)?

    Regular scoring I guess.

    Thanks!!

  23. J D says:

Ok my R Rice us on bye so should I play P. Thomas NO and Mike Bell NO vs MIA or go to wavier I seen J Harrison CLE vs GB and K Faulk NE vs TB or keep who I have
Also what D should I play Vikes vs Pit or Bills vs Car. Thx

  24. Top_Fantasy says:

Start Austin Collie all day! He has been producing and that should not change.

  25. Top_Fantasy says:

    Start LT versus KC

    Slaton is second runner up

    then Brown

But they all have a good chance to hit pay dirt.

  26. Roger Whitt says:

should i start Dwayne Bowe or Jerrico Cotchery saying cotchery is healthy ?

  27. Harry says:

Gentleman, I have: Colston, G.Jennings, A. Collie, Dallas Clark, and Owen Daniels. I need to start 3 in a TD–only league. Thanks

  28. Harry says:

Oops, I forgot to put the opponents in my first question: Colston vs (Mia) G. Jennings vs (Cle) A. Collie vs (St L) Dallas Clark vs (St L) or Owen Daniels vs (SF) TD–only league Start 3 of these.

  29. sanchez says:

Should I drop Dustin Keller to pick up Zach Miller (Oak)? I have K. Winslow and on his bye week, WK8, Miller plays the Chargers, who have been fairly generous to TE's…but what about the rest of the schedule?

  30. Top_Fantasy says:

    Wow that's a nice list!
    In this order:
    Colston
    Daniels
    Clark
    Collie
    Jennings

  31. Top_Fantasy says:

    start Colston
    Daniels
    Clark

  32. Top_Fantasy says:

man I'd like you to hold onto Keller. If you drop him someone else might snag him up. So far he has 32 targets.. check this list out it may help you http://top-fantasy-football.com/ffb-advice/week-7...

  33. Top_Fantasy says:

Ya man it's hurt but he will most likely play versus a mouth watering Bills.

Check it out before the game to be sure and start Lynch if you have to… he isn't a bad option anyways.

PPR League….Addai or Bradshaw in the flex. thanks!

  39. Tim says:

Should I start Ronnie Brown VS New Orleans or go with Marshawn Lynch VS Carolina

  40. Gary says:

    I need to start 2 RBs (.5 ppr). I have R. Mendehall, P. Thomas and L. Maroney.

Also, my WRs are on a bye, so I need to decide between T. Owens or M. Mohamed.

    Thanks for your help!!!

  41. Meyers5 says:

Thinking of picking up Anthony Gonzalez while he's still on the wire for my standard league. I believe he's due to return week 8 or 9. I'm heavy on RB so wondering if I should give up Michael Bush, Felix Jones, or new addition Ahman Green, will need one to fill in for Slaton in week 10. (my other RB is Forte). Appreciate your thoughts.

    • Ray04 says:

YES! Pick up Gonzo and I would drop Jones. Hope this helps.

    • Top_Fantasy says:

Gonzalez has Peyton Manning tossing him the pigskin, need I say more? He is an immediate upgrade once he comes back and no doubt will return as the starter in a high-flying potent offense. Gonzalez is owned less than 40 percent of fantasy leagues and is easily the biggest wavier wire stud available. Plant that seed now by adding him to your roster and you’ll have a stud come Week 9.

  42. tygr20 says:

Is it time to consider dumping Portis for Greene or McCoy? I love McCoy's situation. Portis, apart from one or two weeks has been a total bust, bye-week filler. Also, how about Jacobs? Hang on to him or let him go?

    • Top_Fantasy says:

IMO this situation depends on the RB situation on your team. Also I always try to make trades where I give someone value and depth and in return I get one complete upside. Lets say you need a strong WR. So with players like McCoy, Greene, and Portis find someone who needs a RB. Then offer them the value RB and a value WR for the one stud WR.

McCoy owners of course need to sell now to Westbrook owners for the most upside.
Greene is staying on my team as Jones could get hurt at any point and Greene has way to much upside as you can actually start him now in the best running back by comity in the NFL.
Portis is a must sell. Who knows if Washington will turn around but right now I DONT SEE IT.

  43. tygr20 says:

I'm solid at RB. Not great, but solid. Currently on the roster: Johnson, Rice, Brown, Jacobs, Portis and Caddy. WR: Roddy, Austin, Driver, Harvin, Nicks, Mason, Devery.

I'd love to be able to pack together McCoy and Caddy or Portis to tear Welker away from my league's current Westbrook owner(I've got Brady and Schaub), but I can't see it happening. Might just sit with what I have.

  44. Mark says:

    Gentlemen,

Week 8 question as far as starting running backs are concerned…..

Should I be starting Beanie Wells Vs. CAR / Kevin Smith Vs. STL / Steve Slaton Vs. BUF / LT Vs OAK / or Tashard Choice Vs. SEA?

    I need 2 to start.

    Regular scoring.

    Thanks!!

  45. Top_Fantasy says:

Kevin Smith and Steve Slaton both have very good matchups.

I think Slaton is a better play maker but Smith seems to find the enzone more often.. seeing as how the Bills have such a strong pass defense I'd say do with Slayton. He will catch more underneath passes and should break a big one with all the touches he will be seeing. I always start the player with the most upside.

LT is another good option here but is a risky play..

  46. eddie says:

should i try to trade for vernon davis and give up witten?

  47. Toasted says:

I appologize my son put a toy on the keyboard.

  48. ryro says:

Of the following 4 what ONE player should Bench??? Deshaun Jackson, Devin Hester, Owen Daniels and Sims-Walker

  49. Peter says:

I need another WR and Jerricho Cottrey and Jeremy Maclin are available on the waiver wires. Which one should I go for?

  50. MNgopher says:

Should I start Tony Romo or Matt Schaub?
Schaub going against a good Bill secondary, away, with a questionable Johnson but reliable Olsen. Weather Factoring also
or Romo, At home vs. a bad team and coming off a great game? Miles Austin also emerging as a go to.
I guess it is win win. I just want the better
