Michael Vick Named Permanent Starter in Philly

Chris Mortenson of ESPN is reporting on Tuesday afternoon that the Philadelphia Eagles have named Michael Vick their permanent starting quarterback “until further notice.” He is also reporting that it has nothing to do with Kevin Kolb’s injury.
Grab Vick if you still can. He looks lethal.
More importantly, it appears Andy Reid’s eyes work.

In Michael Vick’s last two games he has a QB rating of 105.5
He has completed 37 of 58 passes for 459 yards and 3 TD and Rushed 18 times for 140 yards.
In an interview Reid chalked up the quarterback change to Michael Vick being “one of the best quarterbacks” in the league. Vick is “playing out of his mind right now,” added Reid, “and that’s a beautiful thing.” Reid went on to emphasize that Kolb can still be a franchise quarterback and “is not slighted by this one bit.” Vick is simply playing too well to ride the pine and even though Philly is in a rebuild year they obviously still have a very strong team that is primed to make a playoff run.
