The 50 Boldest Fantasy Football Predictions on the Internet
Posted by Kurt on Aug 12, 2009 in Fantasy Football
Every year around this time you can wander around different fantasy football websites and read predictions. It always makes me mad how everyone is afraid to go out on a limb and tell you how they really feel! I’m not afraid of controversy, so I’m prepared to make some crazy predictions for the season. I’d like to hear what you think about my predictions so feel free to comment!
Now without further ado…here are the 50 Boldest Fantasy Football Predictions on the Internet.
1. The top 10 QBs will be (in no order):
- Drew Brees
- Peyton Manning
- Carson Palmer
- Aaron Rodgers
- Tom Brady
- Tony Romo
- Donovan McNabb
- Matt Ryan
- Trent Edwards
- Matt Hasselbeck (notice no Warner, Rivers, Schaub or Cutler…)
2. Kurt Warner will play 12 games because of injury.

Kurt Warner is a great real life and fantasy QB, but his health is a major concern. Do you want to rely on a guy who has played a full season three out of eleven seasons?
3. Matt Schaub will play 11 games because of injury.
4. Cedric Benson will only start the first four games because of general ineptitude.
5. Bob Sanders will play 14-15 games this season despite already having injury concerns in the preseason.
6. Jamaal Charles will be the go-to guy for KC by the end of the year. Larry Johnson will injure himself and not come back 100% which will force KC to go to Charles. Charles will be this year’s Pierre Thomas (fantasy postseason stud).
7. Tom Brady will have trouble for the first four games but pull himself together and end the season on a strong note.
8. Tom Brady won’t throw more than 30 TDs.
9. Jay Cutler won’t be able to handle the pressures of being the Bears QB. He will play the season out but throw an uncharacteristic 18 picks.
10. Dallas Clark will be the top TE this year with 89 catches, 1040 yards and 10 TDs.
11. Kerry Collins will end up hurt at one point in the season and Vince Young will start three games. Young will throw more interceptions than TDs in those games.
12. Nate Washington will have the most receptions among Titan receivers/tight-ends.
13. The following running backs will not play 15 or 16 games: Michael Turner, Frank Gore, Steven Jackson, Marion Barber, Brandon Jacobs, Reggie Bush, Larry Johnson, Joseph Addai, Beanie Wells, Darren McFadden and Cedric Benson.
14. Thomas Jones will be the worst running back to start 16 games this season.

Thomas Jones is known to be durable but that may be his problem this season. He will be in your starting lineup every week putting up terrible points. I'd rather draft a guy who gets hurt in the first game honestly.
15. Eddie Royal will be more like Brandon Marshall than Brandon Marshall himself. Royal will end the season with more receptions than Marshall.
16. Kellen Winslow will re-emerge as one of the top ten fantasy tight ends.
17. Chad Ochocinco will return to form and become a fantasy stud.
18. Donald Brown will rush for more yards than Joseph Addai but the two will score the same amount of TDs.
19. Ronnie Brown will be a top 5 RB and score 13-15 combined TDs.
20. Calvin Johnson will continue to impress even with Detroit’s quarterback woes. Megatron will be a top 10 WR.
21. Phillip Rivers will not be a top 10 QB. San Diego will go back to featuring LT in the offense so San Diego’s passing game will suffer. Rivers will be good but the team won’t depend on him to make clutch throws like last year.
22. Because of #21, Vincent Jackson won’t post better numbers. He will however post similar numbers.
23. Ryan Grant will not disappoint at all. He will perform better than other fifth round picks like T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Marshawn Lynch, Joseph Addai and Thomas Jones.
24. Antonio Bryant drops off the face of the earth concerning his fantasy productions.
25. Ray Rice will be the leading rusher for Baltimore.
26. Devin Hester will yet again prove he is better suited to return punts and kickoffs rather than be a receiver.
27. Anthony Gonzalez will have less receptions than Wes Welker, but relatively the same yards and TDs.
28. No one in St. Louis will be worthy to start in a ten team fantasy league on a weekly basis. No one. You are thinking about your first round pick Steven Jackson right now and I’m here to tell you he will stink this year, downright stink.
29. Only two of the top five defenses will be drafted.
30. One of those defenses that won’t go drafted will be Washington, and they will be the second best defense in fantasy this year.
31. At least two people in your league will draft a defense before the final two rounds.
32. Percy Harvin won’t be a great fantasy player this year.
33. Marques Colston will be one of the biggest WR busts this year. Colston will not be the leading receiver and he will only catch 5 TD passes.
34. Terrell Owens will still be a great fantasy WR with 1300 yds and 11 TDs.
35. DeSean Jackson will not drop an easy TD at the one yard line on Monday Night Football…ever again in his life. (Hey we all deserve an easy prediction right?)

I was yelling really loud when DeSean Jackson dropped the ball right here, but I bet Andy Reid was yelling even louder.
36. The Raiders’ backfield will continue to be a mess all year. The team will continue to be trash all year also. I’m smelling six wins from Oakland this year. That being said, Darrius Heyward-Bey will be a surprise fantasy factor in Oakland.
37. Someone in your draft will pick a kicker before the final round, and someone will make fun of him. It happens every time.
38. Steve Smith will have the most receptions for the New York Giants.
39. Ahmad Bradshaw will have almost as many fantasy points as Brandon Jacobs.
40. The Lions will win at least seven games.
41. The Buffalo Bills will win the AFC East.
42. Michael Vick will play this year for an NFL team and there will be one time this season where you at least consider playing him on your fantasy team.
43. Jason Elam will be the top fantasy kicker.
44. Jeremy Shockey will have two great games this season and fourteen terrible ones.
45. Ted Gin Jr. will be a huge factor for the Dolphins this year. He will be a top 70 fantasy player.

Ted Gin Jr. is going into his third year in the NFL, which is when these type of players generally see a spike in production.
46. The Patriots will not have a top ten fantasy defense.
47. Darren Sproles had a great season last year, but this season he will only get 77 carries. He’s only worth having as a handcuff, not as a flex starter.
48. Michael Turner is going to a burner, but more along the lines of burning your fantasy hopes. He’s not going to play the entire year. Remember the name “Jerious Norwood” for when this happens…
49. Jason Witten will not be a top five tight end.
50. When you come back in January, you will find that 36-40 of these predictions here are correct…mark my words.

49. Jason Witten will not be a top five tight end. <– Show some respect bro! Kurt, we might want to test Mike for substance abuse.
43. Jason Elam will be the top fantasy kicker. <– Rob Bironas continues to prove he is….(http://top-fantasy-football.com/ffb-advice/top-fantasy-football-kickers-of-2009-top-secrete/)
41. The Buffalo Bills will win the AFC East. <– I smell something and it resembles buffalo poo
40. The Lions will win at least seven games. <– =) You really went out on a limb here
37. Someone in your draft will pick a kicker before the final round, and someone will make fun of him. It happens every time. <– This might be the only thing you predict correctly in this list
35. DeSean Jackson will not drop an easy TD at the one yard line on Monday Night Football…ever again in his life. (Hey we all deserve an easy prediction right?) <– I stand corrected.
33. Marques Colston will be one of the biggest WR busts this year. Devery Henderson will get more yards than Colston, and Colston will only catch 5 TD passes. <– Huh?
27. Anthony Gonzalez will have less receptions than Wes Welker, but relatively the same yards and TDs. <– you are starting to redeem yourself
23. Ryan Grant will not disappoint at all. He will perform better than other fifth round picks like T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Marshawn Lynch, Joseph Addai and Thomas Jones. <– I knew there was something about you that I liked
17. Chad Ochocinco will return to form and become a fantasy stud. <– Now I am starting to wonder if you are in my head!
15. Eddie Royal will be more like Brandon Marshall than Brandon Marshall himself. Royal will end the season with more receptions than Marshall. <– "I like that boom boom pow"
8. Tom Brady won’t throw more than 30 TDs. <– Confirmation you need to be tested

2. Peyton Manning
3. Carson Palmer
4. Aaron Rodgers
5. Tom Brady
6. Tony Romo
7. Donovan McNabb
8. Matt Ryan
9. Trent Edwards
10. Matt Hasselbeck (notice no Warner, Rivers, Schaub or Cutler…)
My List
1. The top 10 QBs will be (in no order):

I was wondering when you would finish this one! Man what a great read.. easy to read.. fast and to the point! I never once had to wait for the “meat”..
Of course I’ve got to throw in my two cents!!
Schaub will be top ten!
Vince Young will be a number 3 QB behind Patrick Ramsey!
“At least two people in your league will draft a defense before the final two rounds.” and Kurt will be one of them =) Defenses in my league score mad points!
If your league is set up for defenses to score a lot of points then I can see why you’d want to draft a defense a little earlier. Most league I play in don’t give a lot of points for defenses though.
To everyone who thinks I’m nuts with some of these predictions….well we will find out what happens soon enough right? :)
Alright, I updated my Colston prediction because I thought I was a little harsh with him. Still, I don’t think he is going to be third round quality.
Are you insane? Colston and Brees have been connecting in camp, especially in the red zone. You do be smoking some stuff!
Maybe I am insane! We will see…
Looks like the Jay Cutler prediction is on track so far…
