Week 16 IDP Rankings- DL: Start Jason Babin & Cliff Avril
Posted by Tom Digliani on Dec 21, 2011 in IDP Fantasy Football, IDP Rankings
Here we are folks, Week 16!
For many of you this is Championship week and if you have made it this far, Congrats!
If you have Jason Babin, put him in the lineup this week. He took over the NFL sack lead last week and faces rookie Tyron Smith this week. Smith has been great, especially for a rookie. However, with Dallas’ running game limited, they are going to air it out a lot and Philly is going to dial up the pass rush. Babin is currently ranked 6th in our Week 16 DL Rankings.
I also would not hesitate to start Cliff Avril this week. He held the fort together while Suh was out and now with Suh back he has even less attention on him. He is facing a SD OL that has played well lately, but Avril should get through for a performance play or two.
| DL Rank | Player Name | Vs | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|
Jared Allen | WAS | Still can't knock him from the top spot. He has slowed down a bit, however
Jason Pierre-Paul | NYJ | He has been steady and finishes in the top-5 almost every week
Terrell Suggs | CLE |
Chris Long | PIT | Pitt's OL was killed by Aldon Smith. Expect a nice game out of Long
Julius Peppers | GB |
Jason Babin | DAL | The new NFL sack leader is on a ridiculous tear lately. He should keep it up
Chris Clemons | SF |
Elvis Dumervil | BUF | He has come on strong the past quarter of the year and should have no problem owning the Buff OL
Trent Cole | DAL |
Justin Smith | SEA |
Cliff Avril | SD | He should only be helped by the return of Suh. Faces a rejuvenated SD OL that just handled the Ravens
Charles Johnson | TB |
Jeremy Mincey | TEN |
Calais Campbell | CIN | Well deserving of his new deal and should show it in this one
Haloti Ngata | CLE |
Jabaal Sheard | BAL |
Justin Tuck | NYJ |
Greg Hardy | TB | With how crappy the TB offense has been, he could be in for a big game
Robert Mathis | HOU |
Kyle Vanden Bosch | SD |
Will Smith | ATL |
John Abraham | NO | Tough matchup but coming off of a 3.5 sack effort and this one is in primetime. I think he gets a sack
Geno Atkins | AZ |
Ahtyba Rubin | BAL |
Adrian Clayborn | CAR |
Michael Johnson | AZ | As his playing time has decreased, his production has increased. Weird
Darnell Dockett | CIN |
Richard Seymour | KC |
James Hall | PIT |
J.J. Watt | IND | Should have a nice chance to get a sack against the inexperienced Colts OL and Orlovsky
Tommy Kelly | KC |
Da'Quan Bowers | CAR |
Robert Geathers | AZ | Big disappointment despite the playing time
Tyson Jackson | OAK |
Robert Quinn | PIT | Still young and produces in spurts, but nice matchup this week
