Perhaps they want him to replace Slaton with better numbers? Both players performances will determine who keeps, receives, and maintains the starting role, which is still non-committal by the coach. Nobody gives Moats any due, yet he's played 3 years as a backup and has never received enough carries in his career but has good numbers. Slaton at the start of the season we all knew from fantasy draft sites that he had difficulty finding the end zone. There could be a changing of the guard in Houston?
