2013 NFL Power Rankings. Most of know what this is, right?
Around this time every year we begin to see sites all over the web ranking all 32 NFL teams.
This "social convention" stems from the biggest of sports sites straight down to the random blogger.
They're fun. They invoke discussion, and of course, they give every football and fantasy football fan something to think about as Spring begins to come alive.
Well today I thought I would highlight ESPN's recent 2013 NFL Power Rankings in Top 10 fashion, list my own, and then ask YOU the fans to chime in and give your top 10 and perhaps why?
It always been a pleasure of ours to have all of you enter your own input in our topics, and I’m pretty sure this is a fun way to get things going.
For those of you sort of new to power rankings, it’s basically a not-so-scientific approach that takes into account a plethora of considerations that include, but are not limited to:
Prior year’s performance
Off-season moves
Free Agency acquisitions and losses
Coaching changes and a handful of other tidbits
And of course, just a wee-bit of personal opinion in there to really stir things up.
So, I’ll start with ESPN’s collective Top 10 2013 NFL Power Rankings, then list my own “adjustment” and from there it’s up to you guys to let us, and the world, know YOUR OPINION!
Sounds fun, right? And be sure to follow all of our current NFL coverage.
Let’s begin.

1. | Seattle Seahawks | San Francisco 49ers | Seattle is gaining on San Fran, but the 49ers will still be the team to beat in the West. |
2. | San Francisco 49ers | Denver Broncos | I love what Denver has done so far. You can easily argue they are the AFC team to beat in 2013. |
3. | Denver Broncos | Seattle Seahawks | Arguably the best off-season of any team and they are very close to San Fran and Denver, but I don’t think they are close enough…yet! |
4. | Atlanta Falcons | Atlanta Falcons | One of two I agree with ESPN on. |
5. | New England Patriots | Green Bay Packers | The door is closing on both GB and NE. But I believe the Packers have a slight edge in the early goings. |
6. | Green Bay Packers | New England Patriots | They lost a lot. Hopefully they can recover. |
7. | Houston Texans | Houston Texans | I’m a little leery of some open holes in Houston, or they would certainly be higher. |
8. | Baltimore Ravens | Indianapolis Colts | This is about right, and this is a testament of Andrew Luck’s talents. |
9. | Indianapolis Colts | Baltimore Ravens | Love Flacco, love Rice, love Smith. But that’s it right now. |
10. | Cincinnati Bengals | Chicago Bears | I was torn here between the two. The Bengals should be a much better team in 2013 but so should the Bears. The deciding factor is WHO will be better than WHO. My vote is for Chicago in the early goings. For the record, Chicago came in 11th for ESPN. |
And that’s it! See how easy this is? Keep in mind that the 2013 NFL Power Rankings obviously do not take into consideration the draft or draft speculation.
So now it’s your turn Knucklehead Nation! Take a moment out and leave you Top 10 voting or Top whatever below and let’s get the discussion going!
