With NFL training camps opening up this week I am going to take a look at all 32 first round picks in this year's draft. I will give you information that will help you with your fantasy team this season as well as what you can expect from your favorite teams and players this season.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #1
Jadeveon Clowney, LB, South Carolina, Houston Texans
- Missed most of OTAs because of sports hernia surgery.
- Will be available for training camp and the season.
- Should start at OLB opposite Whitney Mercilus.

2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #2
Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn, St. Louis Rams
- Likely will begin his NFL career at left guard as long as Jake Long can recover from his ACL injury and play left tackle.
- Should win the job as the starting left guard.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #3
Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida, Jacksonville Jaguars
- Will begin training camp as the backup to Chad Henne.
- Jaguars are reportedly very excited about Bortles' development.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #4
Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson, Buffalo Bills
- Made a one handed touchdown catch after slipping and falling down on 1st day of camp.
- He has shown great speed and being able to stop on a dime.
- Will probably be the Bills' top receiving threat.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #5
Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo, Oakland Raiders
- Penciled in to start at their strong side linebacker position and play every down.
- He will make a big fantasy impact if they allow him to rush the passer.
- He makes their defense better right away.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #6
Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A & M, Atlanta Falcons
- Looks as if they will start Matthews at right tackle and start right away.
- Matt Ryan was sacked 44 times last season and Matthews will help bolster the Falcon offensive line.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #7
Mike Evans, WR, Texas A & M, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Evans suffered a hamstring injury on May 20th that has slowed him down some this summer.
- He will make up one of the biggest WR duos in the league with Vincent Jackson.
- He should work well with Josh McCown, who was very successful last year in Chicago with big receivers.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #8
Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State, Cleveland Browns
- Prototype size and speed.
- He will battle Buster Skrine for the starting CB spot opposite Joe Haden.
- He will be challenged a lot because of teams staying away from Haden.
- Led the FBS in interceptions, intercepting 1 in 7 passes thrown at him.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #9
Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA, Minnesota Vikings
- Great size and speed ratio.
- The Vikings are starting him at strong side outside linebacker, which is out of position for him.
- I think he would be a better fit in the 4-3 as a DE, he could struggle when he has to cover.
- They will use him as a pass rusher in nickel and dime situations.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #10
Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina, Detroit Lions
- Prototype size and speed.
- Detroit will use a lot of two tight end sets with Ebron in the slot and Brandon Pettigrew as the inline TE.
- Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, formerly of the Saints will use Ebron much like Jimmy Graham is used in New Orleans.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #11
Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan, Tennessee Titans
- Prototype size and speed.
- Lewan is considered the top backup at LT and RT, unless LT Michael Roos is moved this year.
- The Titans are projecting Lewan as their starting LT in 2015.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #12
Odell Beckham, WR, LSU, New York Giants
- Tweaked his hamstring on the first day of camp and the Giants are not sure how long he will be out.
- Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has said they plan to feature Beckham in the return game.
- He will battle Rueben Randle and Mario Manningham for playing time on offense.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #13
Aaron Donald, DT, University of Pittsburgh, St. Louis Rams
- He is small, but has a great motor.
- I had him ranked as the #1 DT in the draft.
- He will be in a rotation with Michael Brockers and Kendall Langford.
- He can have some fantasy value because he has the athleticism to rush the passer.
- Reports are that he has been impressive during OTAs and early on into training camp.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #14
Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech, Chicago Bears
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #5 CB in the draft.
- Right now he is looking as the starting nickel back, but he will challenge to be one of the every down starting CBs.
- He stole the show on the 1st day of camp, intercepting 2 passes and showing his great wingspan/
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick # 15
Ryan Shazier, OLB, Ohio State, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #1 ILB in the draft.
- Worked with the 1st team defense in the spring and looked like he belonged there on the 1at day of training camp.
- LBs coach Keith Butler says he understands concepts well, is very sharp and has great football intelligence.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick # 16
Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame, Dallas Cowboys
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #1 OG in this year's draft.
- He worked at RG in the spring and is the projected starter there for this season.
- Will help the Cowboys running and passing games.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick # 17
C. J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama, Baltimore Ravens
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #5 ILB.
- He was not a pick of need, but he was the best player left on their board.
- He will battle Arthur Brown and Darryl Smith for playing time in the middle of their 3-4 defense.
- Even if he doesn't start he will still see the field especially on special teams.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #18
Calvin Pryor, FS, Louisville, New York Jets
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #2 free safety in the draft.
- Played very well during minicamp, will start training camp as the starter at FS.
- Rex Ryan raved about him after day 1 of training camp.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #19
Ja'Waun James, OT, University of Tennessee, Miami Dolphins
- Has prototype size, but needs to get faster; I had him ranked as the #4 OT in this year's draft.
- He is expected to start at right tackle.
- The Dolphins hope he can help fix an OL that gave up a franchise record 58 sacks last season.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #20
Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State, New Orleans Saints
- Great speed, but he is on the small side; I had him ranked as the #4 WR in the draft.
- The Saints are very impressed with him, already talking him up as a potential rookie of the year candidate.
- Will probably return punts as well.
- Had a very good day 1 of training camp.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #21
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama, Green Bay Packers
- Packers are expecting him to slide into starting free safety spot, but he will have to battle Micah Hyde for that spot.
- His strengths are he can be a center fielder, plays the run well and can cover players in the slot.
- He should be able to help in special teams as well.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #22
Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A & M, Cleveland Browns
- Great speed, but on the small side; I had him ranked as the #1 QB in this year's draft.
- He is battling Brian Hoyer for the starting QB spot, but he is not getting reps with the 1st team offense.
- I just wonder if he will get a true shot at the #1 job this year.

2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #23
Dee Ford, DE, Auburn, Kansas City Chiefs
- Great speed, but is undersized; I had him ranked as the #20 DE/OLB.
- The Chiefs already have two studs at OLB in Tamba Hall and Justin Houston.
- Ford will be used in a rotation with Hall and Houston.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #24
Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State, Cincinnati Bengals
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #2 CB in this year's draft.
- Marvin Lewis has said that Dennard is everything they have hoped he would be.
- The Bengals have many good CBs so he will have to battle hard to get playing time.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #25
Jason Verrett, CB, TCU, San Diego Chargers
- Great speed, but on the small side; I had him ranked as the #11 CB in this year's draft.
- On the 1st day of camp Verrett showed elite quickness, the ability to play press coverage, and tenacity.
- He will have to battle for a starting spot.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #26
Marcus Smith, OLB, Louisville, Philadelphia Eagles
- Great speed, but undersized; I had him ranked as the #10 DE/OLB in this year's draft.
- Smith is expected to be a situational pass rusher this season.
- Eagles coach Chip Kelly says he sees "huge upside" in Smith.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #27
Deone Bucannon, SS, Washington State, Arizona Cardinals
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #2 SS in this year's draft.
- The Cardinals are hoping that Bucannon can fill the shoes left by Yeremiah Bell, who was their 3rd leading tackler.
- After the draft Head Coach Bruce Arians said he is a humble kid that plays with a lot of passion and they will give him the opportunity to knock the crap out of people.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #28
Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State, Carolina Panthers
- He has very good size, but he is on the slow side; I had him ranked as the 10th best WR in this year's draft.
- It appears that Benjamin will enter training camp as one of the starting WRs.
- On the first day of camp, Benjamin caught touchdown passes of 30 and 35 yards.
- The Panthers are hoping he can be a red zone beast.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #29
Dominique Easley, DT, Florida, New England Patriots
- He has very good speed, but about 15 pounds underweight; I had him ranked as the #5 DT in this year's draft.
- Easley will start camp on the Non-Football Injury list as he recovers from the torn ACL he suffered at Florida last season.
- The Patriots are hoping he can be ready by the start of the season.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #30
Jimmie Ward, SS, Northern Illinois, San Francisco 49ers
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #1 SS in this year's draft.
- Heading into draft he had a foot injury and has not taken part of any offseason activities.
- He has already shined in training camp, intercepting a pass during 7-on-7 drills of the first practice.
- Jim Harbaugh has said that he is a very good football player.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #31
Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State, Denver Broncos
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #1 CB in this year's draft.
- Roby will fight for a starting sport, but for a rookie he is expected to work in nickel and dime situations at least.
2014 NFL Draft Rookie Report for Pick #32
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville, Minnesota Vikings
- Prototype size and speed; I had him ranked as the #4 QB in this year's draft.
- Matt Cassel has been named #1 QB heading into camp, but Bridgewater is expected to challenge him.
- Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner has been impressed by Bridgewater so far.
