2014 NFL First Round Mock Draft: Final Edition

May 5, 2014 by Andy Schmidt

The time has finally come for the 2014 NFL Draft. Everyone has their mock drafts and everyone knows that they will be wrong but they do it anyway. There will be trades so the teams in the positions they are now won’t all likely be there when the pick actually arrives but for the time being, this is if no trades happen. Here are my previous attempts at this in March and April leading up to this final mock draft. Here is how I see the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft shaping up.

  1. Houston Texans- Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
  2. St. Louis Rams- Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Khalil Mack, LB, Buffalo
  4. Cleveland Browns- Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
  5. Oakland Raiders- Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
  6. Atlanta Falcons- Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
  8. Minnesota Vikings- Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
  9. Buffalo Bills- Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
  10. Detroit Lions- Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
  11. Tennessee Titans- Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
  12. New York Giants- Zack Martin, OG, Notre Dame
  13. St. Louis Rams- Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
  14. Chicago Bears- Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
  15. Pittsburgh Steelers- Odell Beckham, WR, LSU
  16. Dallas Cowboys- Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State
  17. Baltimore Ravens- Ha Ha Clinton Dix, S, Alabama
  18. New York Jets- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
  19. Miami Dolphins- C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama
  20. Arizona Cardinals- Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri
  21. Green Bay Packers- Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State
  22. Philadelphia Eagles- Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana
  23. Kansas City Chiefs- Marqise Lee, WR, USC
  24. Cincinnati Bengals- Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
  25. San Diego Chargers- Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
  26. Cleveland Browns- Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State
  27. New Orleans Saints- Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State
  28. Carolina Panthers- Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
  29. New England Patriots- Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
  30. San Francisco 49ers- Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State
  31. Denver Broncos- Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
  32. Seattle Seahawks- Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington

A look at this shows that there is no Teddy Bridgewater in the first round and he is more likely to be taken with the first pick of the second round by the Texans if nothing else happens in front of them during the first round. It’s now time to wait and see which teams actually pick which player. It is definitely going to be an exciting three days coming up for fans and teams around the NFL.
