If you're a Carolina Panthers fan, you have plenty to be excited about. Cam Newton exceeded all expectation in 2011. And unlike some experts who feel he could be a one-year wonder, I strongly suspect he will take his play to the next level in 2012. Yeah his stats likely won't be as high, but he has plenty of time to work out the kinks in his play and become a better quarterback outside of the numbers. And if the Pro Bowl showed anything, it's that Steve Smith still has plenty of gas left in the tank after catching 5 passes for 118 yards and a score.
So what was the next logical step for the Panthers to take their team to a whole new level? A new logo of course.
For the first time in team history (1995-), the Panthers unveiled a new/fiercer logo that will be incorporated into all their merchandise, uniforms, yada yada.
Even though I'm not a Panthers fan, I love the change. It's a symbol that the team wants to get out of the old regime and begin it's journey as the Cam Newton Franchise.
