“Colts Nation here I come!”
So said defensive tackle Arthur Jones on his Twitter, after his recent signing with the Indianapolis Colts. Jones, a former player for the Baltimore Ravens, has now signed a $33 million, 5 year deal with the Colts, confirming much speculation that many have had since he signed unto the draft as a free agent, leaving The Baltimore Ravens after three seasons. Jones, a 2010 fifth year draft pick, has developed into one of the league’s top defensive tackles, scoring his first Super Bowl ring with the Ravens in 2012.
Jones eventually announced his intention to become a free agent, making his contract one of the hottest commodities in the NFL. The Colts are also giving him the opportunity to reunite with former Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano, making the season something of a Ravens reunion. With the Colts, Jones will hopefully be given a chance to shine ion the field. The Colts are clearly enthusiastic, and have a lot of confidence in Jones, and Jones seems to be ready for something different. Both Jones and Pagano have sung each other’s praises in the press, so this could be the next step the Colts make to getting closer to a truly winning season. Hopefully the Colts and Arthur Jones will make for a match made in Lucas Oil Stadium.
