Antonio Brown went beast mode last week (as did pretty much everyone in the Steelers - Raiders matchup), Jeremy Langford came to play on Monday night, and Big Ben found himself on the shelf once again. Oh, and for the second week in a row we've had a lacerated kidney. Interesting. Looking ahead to week 10… wow, is it really week 10? Here are the value picks I like at each position on FanDuel and DraftKings. As always, use these players to supplement your high-end picks.
Quarterback Value Picks
-
Derek Carr - OAK DraftKings: 5800 FanDuel: 7500
I’ll be taking the Carr out for another spin in week 10. Did you realize that Carr is actually tied for third in the league with 19 touchdowns through week 9? Insanity! I liked him in week 9 and his price has only risen $200, I’m using him. - Blake Bortles - JAC DraftKings: 5600 FanDuel: 7800
More expensive than Carr (why?), but still a fantastic play. Bortles himself has thrown for 17 scores and now gets to face the Ravens, who are absolutely dead last in the league against opposing aerial attacks in terms of fantasy points allowed. You can throw all over Baltimore, and that’s what Bortles, averaging 300+ passing yards per game on the road, will do.
Running Back Value Picks
- Antonio Andrews - TEN DraftKings: 3700 FanDuel: 6000
Mike Mularkey was not full of Mularkey when he said he’d make Andrews the feature back. The Titans fed him the rock 19 times. While Carolina is a much tougher draw than the Saints, the Panthers can be had on the ground - at least fantasy-wise. They’re currently bottom-10 against opposing rushers in ppr formats. - James White - NE DraftKings: 3000 FanDuel: N/A
I couldn’t find White on Fanduel - perhaps because he was inactive in week 9. But I suspect that will change with Dion Lewis out for the season. I expect it will be White - not Brandon Bolden- who takes over the Dion Lewis role. Don’t expect Dion production right away, but I do think he’s a valid GPP play with high upside.
Wide Receiver Value Picks
- Davante Adams - GB DraftKings: 4200 FanDuel: 5800
These prices are unreal. Adams should have been the no. 2 (maybe no. 1, with his upside) in Green Bay after the pre-season injury to Jordy Nelson. However, an early season injury hobbled him. Adams looked fully healthy - and was plenty productive - in week 9 against a very solid Panthers pass defense. Now he gets Detroit - another week healthier and back at Lambeau. You’re getting an extremely talented receiver on the field for most of the snaps with Aaron Rodgers for 4200… Yeah. Just pointing that out. - Brandon Lafell - NE DraftKings4100 FanDuel: 6200
You found LaFell in this space last week and I’m all aboard the train once more. LaFell’s production has steadily improved since he came of the PUP and last week he broke the 100-yard mark against a suspect NFC East secondary. This week, he faces a suspect NFC East secondary. - Michael Floyd - ARI DraftKings: 3800 FanDuel: 5900
Carson Palmer has thrown 20 TDs. That’s 2.5 per game. Floyd has scored in two straight tilts and I put him here just to say: no, I’m not that afraid of the Seahawks and yes, I do love the low price tag.
Tight End Value Picks
- Austin Sefarian-Jenkins - TB DraftKings: 2800 FanDuel: 5300
This should be the week. Fingers crossed. I didn’t step on any cracks in the sidewalk. No jinxes. No takebacks. I think ASJ plays. I really do. ...and if he does, you should use him. - Crockett Gillmore - BAL DraftKings: 2800 FanDuel: 5000
Baltimore - Jacksonville might be a really ugly game by NFL standards, but it should be a glorious, high-scoring fantasy slugfest. Not a lot of defense in this one, methinks. Which means all the skill position players should have a field day. Gillmore is the de facto number two receivers on the Ravens and the targets alone justify a play, given his low price.
Week 10 Defense Value Picks
Welp, the Broncos finally put up a semi-dud… for what it’s worth they were still usable. I’m not worried about the Aqib Talib suspension or the Demarcus Ware injury - at home against an impotent Chiefs offense, I think you can use them again. I also really like the Rams against the Bears in what should be a pound-the-ground style game. They’ll generate a few sacks and likely a turnover or two.
Best of luck! As always you can tweet me: @pkaragianis
