The Best Waiver Wire Picks

The waiver wire is literally the single most powerful tool you can use to dominate your league. When hitting the waiver wire your goal is simple, replace your slackers with starters. You'll be temped to hold onto your draft picks because of the investment you made. Resist the urge to hold on to dead weight. Each season we see guys rise and fall. Drop the players that are failing and pick up the guys that are rising, it's that simple.

Weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4 are the most critical! During the opening weeks you'll see wide receiver battles flesh themselves out, typically at the WR2 position or slot. Running back platoons (RBBC) may change as one runner rises above the rest enough to warrant a starting position on your team. Tight ends that no one saw coming put together several strong games and become solid depth or trade bait. Lastly, quarterbacks and team defenses can be streamed. We publish the best waiver wire picks every week, see below for our most recent picks.

Justin Blackmon: Is He Even Worthy Of A Pickup?

October 1, 2013 by Greg Brosh

Having served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon is finally able to practice with the team this week in preparation for the team’s Week 5 game against the Rams. A polarizing figure on-and-off the field, it makes sense that owners will start their waiver wire lists with […]

September 30, 2013 by Greg Brosh

As Week 4 of the NFL begins to come to a close, the Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups article is still picking up steam with several players who might could patch the holes your team has been sustaining over the course of the season. Before I go on, is it safe to say that if […]

Brian Hoyer Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickup

September 24, 2013 by Kurt Turner

When news emerged that Brandon Weeden would miss Cleveland’s Week 3 matchup with Minnesota due to a thumb injury, there were not a large percentage of observers that were predicting a prolific day for the Browns offense. Those negative prognostications intensified when the shocking trade of Trent Richardson also occurred just hours later, which […]

Week 4 Team Defense Waiver Wire Pickups

September 24, 2013 by Kurt Turner

An enormous percentage of your focus each week is involved with decisions about RBs, WRs, TEs, and signal callers. Making the amount of planning that you dedicate to team defenses far less extensive. While that is understandable, it still behooves you to maximize your chances of winning by examining all of your existing options. Those of you who secured […]

Willis McGahee Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickup

September 24, 2013 by Greg Brosh

Never would I have thought Willis McGahee would see the light of day on any waiver wire list in 2013. When the Broncos released him due to age and his salary, McGahee became just another name in a pile of free agent running backs who were likely past their prime. A Browns trade with the […]
