For the first time in their careers the Sedin twins played on different teams but it was Henrik Sedin that showed great chemistry at the All-Star game with Danny, Danny Briere that is. Daniel Sedin is just one point behind Steven Stamkos for the league lead in points. Daniel has scored 27 goals and 40 assists over 52 games, which puts him on pace for 43 goals and 105 points. Henrik Sedin is currently sitting fourth overall in scoring with 11 goals and 62 points that puts him on pace for 17 goals and 98 points. The Sedin twins are finally showing that they are elite players in the NHL.
Games to be played in week 19:
- Four Games: Calgary, Carolina, Chicago, Colorado, Columbus, Detroit, Edmonton, NY Islanders, Pittsburgh, San Jose and Toronto
- Three Games: Anaheim, Atlanta, Boston, Buffalo, Dallas, Florida, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Montreal, Nashville, New Jersey, NY Rangers, Ottawa, Phoenix, St. Louis and Vancouver
- Two Games: Philadelphia, Tampa Bay and Washington
When it comes to dressing your players for the upcoming week, especially your goalies, it is important to know which team is on a long road trip and which team is enjoying an extended period at home. Listed below are the teams that play at least three home/away games this week or play all their games at home or on the road (home/road records up to February 3, 2011):
- HOME: Calgary (14-9-1), Dallas (16-7-4), Detroit (15-6-4), Edmonton (7-14-4), Florida (11-8-5), Philadelphia (16-7-2), Tampa Bay (17-4-2), Vancouver (17-3-5) and Washington (16-5-7)
- AWAY: Anaheim (11-13-3), Carolina (12-11-4), Chicago (11-7-4), Colorado (11-8-3), Los Angeles (11-13-1), Ottawa (8-12-4) and San Jose (14-9-3)
If you participate in any type of head-to-head hockey pool then you are likely dressing a lineup for each scoring period, which usually ends on Sunday. As the week comes to an end and you find yourself in a close battle for those wins you want as many players as possible playing for you. Here are the teams that play on Sunday (record for Sunday games up to Week 17):
- Anaheim (6-4), Atlanta (3-4), Boston (1-1), Buffalo (1-0), Carolina (1-3), Columbus (1-1), Dallas (3-1), Detroit (3-2), Edmonton (3-5), Florida (1-2), Los Angeles (1-2), NY Islanders (1-4), NY Rangers (3-3), Philadelphia (4-1), Pittsburgh (0-1) and San Jose (0-2)
When you are deciding which goalie to dress you need to look at the NHL schedule to see if your goalie's team will play in a back-to-back game that week. Most coaches will not dress the same goalie in back-to-back games so that is something to consider when you are thinking about which goalie to dress for the week. Here are the teams that play in back-to-back games this week (record of second game of back-to-back up to Week 17):
- Calgary (4-5), Carolina (5-6), Chicago (6-4), Colorado (3-5), Columbus (7-4), Los Angeles (3-5), Minnesota (2-9), Montreal (5-6), New Jersey (3-8), NY Islanders (3-8), Pittsburgh (6-3), San Jose (3-5), St. Louis (6-3) and Toronto (3-6)
Knowing which team is on a hot streak or cold streak will help in making your lineup decisions, for example you definitely want to dress a goalie from teams that are on a hot streak. Here are the top five and bottom five teams up to February 3, 2011:
- TOP FIVE: Calgary (7-1-2), New Jersey (7-2-1), Philadelphia (7-3-0), Pittsburgh (7-3-0) and Tamp Bay (7-3-0)
- BOTTOM FIVE: Ottawa (1-7-2), Edmonton (2-7-1), St. Louis (2-7-1), Atlanta (2-5-3) and NY Islanders (3-7-0)
Most elite stars are consistent scorers, but there are several players who are very streaky so keep an eye on their stats so that you can dress them while they are on a hot streak. Here are the top five scorers up to February 3, 2011 for the past 7 and 14 days:
