What team doesn't need "a menacing linebacker," "a violent tackler," a cross between Ray Lewis and Troy Polamalu, these were the hyperbolic catchphrases used to describe University of Southern California linebacker Rey Maualuga prior to April's draft and three games into the season, Maualuga is living up to the hype. Passed over four times by the Browns, Maualuga was taken 38th overall in the second round by the Cincinnati Bengals and playing a new position, he is fourth on the Bengals with 17 tackles. Maualuga has a sack and two forced fumbles in helping rejuvenate the Bengals' defense, they come to Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday ranked 16th overall, 11th against the run. "I'm not surprised at all," said Browns linebacker Kaluka Maiava, a USC teammate of Maualuga. "Everyone expected that from him. He's a strong player and definitely brings a good energy to his team."
