Two NFL Teams To Relocate To Los Angeles?

Latest Los Angeles stadium whispering is that there could be two NFL teams relocating to share a stadium. If just one stadium is built, the San Diego Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Vikings are considered contenders for relocation.

I agree Harvs. I'd like to see Jacksonville go. They've obviously failed in Florida...they could possibly get a new life for a few years in LA and then ultimately move to London...lol...

 

LA didn't care for a team, Jacksonville didn't care for a team, London didn't care for the NFLE team they had. Perfect fit 86

 

LA is trendy...they'll love them for 5 minutes and then your boy Goodell will move them along to London...

LA will not support an NFL franchise there are to many other thing to do in that city besides going to a football game.

 

How many teams does LA have to not support before the NFL realizes that USC is the main football focus there.

Maybe they rename the team to draw in the local "Gang Support." Would love to see that grass roots marketing campaign...

 

i think there's some truth to this but if people truly want to support a team, they will. the lakers and dodgers are supported well there because they've been there forever. the problem with moving a team to l.a. is that anyone who is already an nfl fan in l.a. HAS another team and they're not going to switch allegiance. the owner of the team is going to have to take his lumps for 10 or 15 years while generations begin to grow up with a team in l.a. to build a fan base.

 

That's the problem you face at every city you're going to move to. Even Lon.... :icon_redface:

 

eh, i disagree. when a 'smaller' city like nashville, baltimore, indianapolis, etc. gets a team, most of the city switches to the hometown team because it puts their city on the map in the nfl. nobody in l.a. gives a crap about city pride so they aren't going to root for the new l.a. team.

london would actually sell a lot of tickets to the games with all of the ex-Americans living over there and dying for some American football. However, the TV ratings would blow.

 

All those cites you mentioned have a team. So what other city can you imagne? LV?- is already on the map w/o football

I wonder how many (ex-[???]) Americans life in the UK? I don't think enough to fill a stadium 16x a season.
Don't compare those 2 games with a regular team, bc fans won't travel from all over Europe to London and the interest at the 1st game was that great, that alot didn't came back for the second half.

 

What a load of horsecrap. Most stayed throughout the fourth, but because of how late the game was people were having to leave early because the trains outside of London stop at 9pm.

there are hundreds of thousands of Americans and ex-Americans living in Europe with the military and corporations or retired. they will travel from france, italy, germany, etc. to london to get a taste of american football ......... that's what goodell is counting on.

That doesn't work with the NFLE years ago, when the US population was larger. Only Frankfurt draw enough interest to the Americans, but most of them are gone, since the closed most bases here.

San Antonio have to compare with Houston and Dallas. I didn't expect a lot fans jump ships

Andy, I saw this "game" on TV. Why had there been so many empty seats. The stadium looked half empty on TV and that's what buddies of me told me.

i hope its not the vikings assuming they dont realigning the divisons becuase it would suck to have an extra road game on the left coast every year

but if they do realigning the divisons moving the vikings would make alot of sense becuase the metrodome is on its last legs twins are gone gophers are gone idk if they can keep it open without the extra income those 2 brought, plus im sure the NFL would like AD to be in a larger market $$$

also it would be an easy swap rams for vikings in the NFC north/west in terms of distance lots of money would be saved for the bottom line
