The New Orleans Saints host the New York Giants at the Superdome on Sunday 10/18/09. Kickoff time is 1:00 pm EST. Discuss....
In before the saint slob knobbing. I just watched a preview on NFLN and the only talk about how awesome the saints were, in the air, on the ground, the defense, shockey... lol, please. You want to crown them, then crown their ass, they are who I think they are! G-MEN! Saints can't handle it. Edit - nm, I was too late.
All signs point to Saints, They are coming off a bye week, Eli seems a little shaken up, they are at home in the dome. All that said, I'm going with the Giants. I'm just not sold on that New Orleans defense.
This should be an exciting game down to the wire. Brees should not have to work if Bush and Thomas get the ball like they should because the Giants have a very good secondary. But I think Jacobs will come out running hard and he should have a very good day.
Saints, Brees is due and its week 6 now and Jacobs hasnt done crap. Saints are rested while Eli still has that issue with his heel.
I agree something in the back of my mind is telling me that even though the Giants are 5-0, it will really show their skills against the Saints and it isnt going to be what people think.
This game is big they havent played a team with a real identity yet. They beat the cowboys that are struggling every week almost lost to KC. KC raiders Bucs redskins all bad teams. Can say the same thing about the eagles i guess.
Guys... the NY Giants are 18-3 over their last 21 road games and you're going to sit here and talk about which team is more for real, fo'real? I expect a good game and don't think everyone should think the Giants should win, but your actually questioning their realness, compared to the saints... please. ...and who the Saints beat? Stafford, Kolb, Edwards and Sanchez... there's your amazing D.
yeah you can say the same about the eagles, all their wins are against 0 win teams... The Giants are the same team that went 12-4 last year and are better this year. To me the Saints are the sketchy ones, they were what 6-10 last year. They beat the Eagles who handed that game on turnovers and let Brees go something like 15/16 against the Blitz. The Jets defense held them to 10 offensive points, the same Jets defense that crap the bed against the Dolphins. The Giants if they blitz will probably do it from the Nickel. The Giants front 4 will bring enough pressure and fill the passing lanes to give Brees trouble looking downfield. There are no issues with Eli, every one of his complete passes, including the 2 bombs he threw were right on the money. He didnt finish that game because what was the need to. Giants 30 Saints 20 **********Automerged Doublepost********** giants are going to have no problem rushing the ball. The Saints like to play bump and run coverage, no problem playaction all day. Remember last year when the Giants were what 5-1 heading into the meat part of their schedule? What did they do, they rolled of 6 straight wins against teams like the steelers, eagles, cardinals, ravens etc. This game reminds of the Carolina game at the end of the season last year. High powered Air attack with Steve Smith and the running game prowes of Stewert and Williams. Obviously Jake D is no Drew Brees.
I really wouldn't get caught up in anything Ball In The Baskett says when it comes to football. The question whether the Giants are for real is a joke. The Giants are a top team and have been for years now, they can get to the quarterback with the best of them, and with a group of Wide Receivers that are producing there really aren' t any question marks on the team. They have a few big injuries but have been managing to dominate teams since the start of the season.
You mean this guy right? Not the guy that was mentioned right before him. People say Jamarcus is a bust.
I believe people that are talking about how real the Giants are, are reffering to this year. Last year and the year before that don't mean crap. Look at the Cardinals went to the superbowl last year and this year struggling. I am basing my opinion by this year, and I am not saying Saints are going to go in and destroy the Giants. The giants are a good team, I just dont think they are good enough to beat the Saints, reguardless of how the Saints might have been last year. I could be wrong, and if I am I will admit it when the time comes, but thats just my personal opinion.
