Even if Marion Barber and Felix Jones are at 100 percent heading into the Oct. 25 home game against Atlanta, Dallas is determined to keep Tashard Choice in the mix. "We've got to give him some touches," Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said. "We can't eliminate him. He makes plays." When asked about getting more opportunities, Choice chose his words carefully. But he did suggest he would like to be more involved in the early going. "I feel I'm at my best when I do run it a lot," he said. "It helps you when you go into the fourth quarter and have already run the ball 15 times."

The sad thing is it is week 6 and they are coming up with this while most of the fans have been saying this before the season started.

Why the hell wouldn't they keep giving him touches?

Because Felix Jones is averaging 10.1 yards per carry? Iunnoo just a thought.

yeah thats beautiful and all.. and not taken anything away from him, but.. how can you average 10.1 yards per carry, from the sidelines?

    He'll be back...

The fact that he has never carried the ball more than 10 times in a game is astounding. There are people out there that believe he is an every down back. Ya YA enough with the injury comments, that's well known already, We should give him the ball more and see if he can become that everydown back. If I had my pick between all 3 runningbacks to carry the ball the majority of the time it would be Felix. The way we've been using him has been reasonably effective, but we haven't taken his training wheels off and thrown the gauntlet down. If we never get him involved in the pass game you know 5 catches a game, or 10+ carries a game, or in the return game, than frankly theres no point in even having him.

okay, every time he becomes the featured back, he gets hurt? how is that for not taken the training wheels off comment? it's not that we haven't, but he CANNOT Stay healthy, you can't not bring up the injury talk when speaking of him, because he hasn't lasted up to 5 games in a season without missing time, Tashard has never once missed any time, or been banged up.. and he played against a Steelers D last year, that is made up of hard hitters, and wig splitters. A Good RB is one who stays consistent, year round.. look up LT, see how many games he missed from 2001-2009. And he's an EVERY DOWN back. not a spell in like Felix. [once again, not taken anything away from Felix, he's really good.. but you can't be good, if you can't be on the field].

It's early in his career he can still turn things around, I'm not taking anything away from our other running backs they are great as well. But Felix has the highest ceiling and he consistently breaks off big runs in games. I don't think he's ever really been the featured back, you mean like when he's received 5 straight carries or something, okay valid point but he's never been named the starting running back for a game and actually seen alot of touches whether it's through the air or on the ground. What is LT then? or what was he? he wasn't a good running back? Felix isn't a good running back? I'm just saying put the injury talk aside for a moment and really take a good look at his talent/skill level and how dominant he could be.

the cowboys have a real logjam at running back. Barber is one of the hardest running guys you will ever see. Felix is supposed to be their back of the future. But Choice has proven to be worthy of carries. When all 3 are healthy, someone is not going to get the ball enough. However, Jones is constantly hurt and Barber seems to get dinged up often too, so most of the time they will only have 2 of them healthy.

All great and valid points lol. Plus we have all three of them under contract for a few more seasons. Once somebody becomes the clear cut starting Running back and proves to be fairly reliable when it comes to not getting hurt, that's when one of them will be cut loose in my opinion.

there is no running back i love watching run the ball more than barber. to me, watching barber drag 3 defenders for an extra 3 yards is a more exciting play than adrian peterson going off tackle and not being touched for a 60 yard td run.
