Eli Manning is only taking the snaps his coaches think are most important to get him ready for the New York Giants' showdown with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Manning's sore right heel did not get any worse playing less than a half in the Giants' blowout win over the Oakland Raiders but coach Tom Coughlin is being cautious as New York prepares for a battle of undefeated teams in the Superdome, a few miles from the Uptown neighborhood where Manning grew up. Coughlin said Manning would do a little more work in Thursday's practice and step it up again on Friday. Source: Associated Press
Of course he's getting therapeutic treatments and has orthopedic shoes to help the pressure points... though he's not taking any painkillers anything. Are you looking for something here herm, you keep poking at this.
I believe the major thing to cure his heel is simply rest..... As far as anyone has said, it's simply a condition that requires rest and you can't do anything but play through the pain in the meantime and rest it as much as possible.
I read that a common treatment for this is a steroid shot, just wondering if that's been considered...
I know they need Eli for the game against the Saints, both teams need to come with their A players........ with a heel its going to get worse, even if you just limit his practice time. Staying off of it is really the only way to help it. I have a feeling if they play him against the Saints hes going to just do more harm to himself and the team.
Yea i dont think he got sacked against the raiders someone correct me if im wrong but what if he gets sacked hard this game not really good for his heel.
not even getting sacked, simply dropping back and avoiding a sack would require him to put pressure on his bad heal in order to give momentum to his body...... that alone could do more damage then getting sacked.
SODEV... your ladies in blue are being disrespected in your old stomping grounds. a few of us are awaiting a rebuttal... come visit.
listen at this crap. Jesus Christ. Another expert. Have not read anything about them doing this, but I doubt they would do anything that they thought could negatively effect his long term health. Also, for what it's worth, Manning said that he was told by doctors he most likely won't make the injury worse by practicing or playing on it. lol, I'll be over soon to tighten them up!
Wow, so you are getting all worked up becuase people are worried that Eli might hurt himself? A heel injury is no joke, so I guess you have never had one......... its common sence, not sure why your getting all Butt hurt about ways to recover from a heel injury.....
not sure exactly what your defeding the giants for... no one is critisizing your beloved team, only stressing concern........ Oh and my feild of Study is SPORTS MEDICINE so stop trying to be the cool internet little kid with the big attitude, and go watch some dora the explorer **********Automerged Doublepost********** Meaning he could still hurt it........ Enough said....... your little rants hold no water..... He might not hurt it yes, but without staying off of it, it sure isnt going to just get better..... and as the doctors you mentioned said he might not make it worse....... but he still could, but it sure isnt going to get better........
You finished? Funny you bring up the kiddie crap considering I actually went to you profile to check your age cause you posts were so seemingly childish.
I didn't figure a steroid shot would be allowed because of the rules and all, just giving you some stress dude... :icon_lol:
lol if you call common sence and experiance childish then it would appear you have revealed my true age.............. 25 :icon_eek:
Dammit, I'm trying to argue with a Saints fan that's gone unchecked on another forum... I can't do 2 at once!
