a different thread about the raiders being horrible started me thinking ............ which is scary, i know.

but, there are a LOT of bad teams right now. There are 10 teams that are completely winless unless they are playing each other.

Buffalo, Carolina, Tampa Bay, St. Louis, Kansas City, Oakland, Cleveland, Tennessee, Detroit, and Washington.

These 10 teams are 0-35 when playing the 'top' 22 teams in the league. pretty staggering, eh?

i'm sure a few of them will start playing better and look respectable by the end of the season though.

    Crowned Doesn't give a shit.

That's the theme this year, the good are great, and the bad are HORRIBLE.

edit: actually, i think houston, jacksonville, and seattle may fit into this same category so it may actually be 13 teams that are winless against anyone else but now my head hurts from thinking too much ................... someone else can get the rest of the teams.

brakos82 30% more cats than last year!

I know we are (TEN, OAK), and in that case the Jags are (TEN,HOU). No idea about Seattle though. Probably.

Well, in all reality you could say that 32 teams are winless unless they play each other.

dallas has only beat Bucs, Chiefs, and Panthers, who were all winless till Carolina beat Skins

oh crap. this list is getting way too big. :icon_cheesygrin:

let's just say that there's some really bad teams so far this year but hopefully several of them will become more competitive ...............

    Good point, CB

I guess every 'cause' needs a poster boy & Oakland seems to be it this year for futility. Having Al as the boss put 'em over the top, I guess. lol

it's interesting how different people have different definitions of what 'parity' means ................. when the Lions were going 0-16 last year after the Pats went 16-0 the season before, I had a month-long debate on a different site with several people about how something like that could happen in the age of 'parity'.

Most argued that parity actually means a team's fortunes can change from year to year, which is true and is one of things that makes the nfl so great. However, you would think that 'parity' would also prevent 16-0 and 0-16 but most of the guys I was speaking with didn't think it had any part of the nfl's definition of 'parity'.

as an update to this discussion, i heard this week that there are 9 teams left that are a combined 3-44 versus the rest of the league. I haven't checked the numbers personally but someone on the radio was talking about it.

    The 9 teams are:

Redskins, Lions, Bucs, Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs, Raiders, Titans, Browns.

This is was scares me. Beside a lucky win vs Chicago, we only won against the teams I bolded. Next on the schedule is Tampa Bay...

well, it's better to be lucky (with scheduling) than good ....................

i think it comes from just how many times a team chances coaching all the time. every year now there is up 2 like 10 new coaches every year. how is any team suppose to have the right players every year when there is a new signal caller every year.

  17. CaptainStubing

CaptainStubing Gave her a Dirty Sanchez

that is definitely part of it ................. 8 of the 9 teams on the list have had their coach for only a year or 2.

We still have the Steelers, Ravens, Cowboys and Cardinals, plus our second meeting with the Bears. My hopes for finish better than 8-8 are slim. Very slim....

You'd think with a cap we wouldn't have this happening, but there just isn't that many top coaches in the NFL. Along with that, with the complex multiple Defenses being thrown out there, you need QB's that are intellectually able to adjust on every play. Just how many of those are out there? We have a top coach and a top QB, which I'm extremely thankfull for.

you forgot GMs, who brag to be 13m under the cap and didn't bring any valueable vets in
