Ravens LB Ray Lewis Fined $25,000 By The NFL

ESPN"S Adam Schefter confirms on his Twitter page that Chris Mortensen reported that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis has been fined $25,000 for his hit on Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. "RT @mortreport Reported for ESPN: NFL confirms Ray Lewis fined $25,000 for hit on OchoCinco. he will appeal to at least get a reduction."

He may get a reduction, but the fine will stand.

 

I was kind of thinking that the league would be somewhat more sympathetic after the guy who got hit said there should be no fine.

 

WTF? I told you all he would be fined. But the amount is excessive.

Probably felt it was due to Ocho Cinco running his mouth prior to the game.

 

$25,000 for that hit? Ummm ok. He better get that fine reduced.

I just read another report that the fine was for two incidents, not just the hit on Ochocinco.

I watched that whole Cincinnati debacle and didn't see any 'kicking' from Ray and I'm pretty sure the announcers would've made note of it also if it was even on the fringe of flagrant - They should fine Palmer for kicking Foxworth's butt all over the field Sunday?
