A Mississippi woman is claiming that the late Steve McNair fathered her daughter and is seeking part of the former NFL quarterback's estate, valued at $19.6 million. According to WTVF-TV, court documents filed Friday in Nashville identify Clover Lee as the mother of the child, whose age and name were not given. Lee's attorney David Pitre said a paternity test is being done and released the following statement: "On behalf of my client, today we have filed a claim for paternity and heirship in the Steven L. McNair estate actions which have been previously opened in both Tennessee and Mississippi. We expect that questions of paternity and heirship will soon be conclusively answered by DNA testing which is currently being conducted. The pleadings filed are self-explanatory, and out of concern for the privacy and well-being of my minor child client, as well as the McNair family, we will have no further comment on the matter. We request that the media and other interested parties respect our client's privacy and refrain from contacting her or her family."

Why didn't she came out of the closet, when McNair was alive? It's all about the money....

It probably is...quite lame if you ask me. Like someone already said, it's all about the money.

The disparity between the Steve McNair we knew and the Steve McNair he was continues to grow.

He probably was paying her some kind of child support, and now with that gone, she wants a piece of the pie. Most of these cases are a way for a woman to get some serious bucks without having to work, except for Brady's case, where Bridget wanted a baby because of her age, and she sure didn't need the money.

This, although this is true for most athletes. I don't want to know everything about my favorite players...I just want to watch them on Sundays.

It's so friggin pathertis how so many are just too lazy to work these days. They just want a free ride, and for the most part with government aid they can get it. :icon_frown:

I pride myself in a good work ethic. Yes it feels good not to sponge off of others. But it feels horrible to have to help pay for those to freaking lazy to work.:icon_frown:

This. When I grew up watching McNair as a child, I was in awe in what kind of player he was.

Call it turning a blind eye, but I refuse ot pay attention to this mess.

I do agree with earlier sentiments. Baby wants money.

Yeah I just choose to ignore most tabloid crap about athletes in general. All I want is to be entertained on gameday, that's it. Their private lives should be just that...private.
