Coming off an ugly loss to the Oakland Raiders Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles have traded for Rams starting linebacker Will Witherspoon for WR Brandon Gibson and mid-level pick, FOXSports.com has learned. Witherspoon, the long-time Carolina Panther and St. Louis Ram linebacker, can play both middle and outside 'backer and is highly-regarded for his speed and football smarts. The move adds some much-needed punch to an Eagles linebacking corps that sorely needs it, one that has struggled ever since the season-ending knee injury to starter Stewart Bradley over the summer. Bummer? This is like watching someone burn down your house without being able to do anything to stop it. This move makes me sick.
Both parties are to blame in that crapstorm, not just the Eagles. Anyways, I didn't know this guy put up the kind of stats he did in some years. Maybe this turns out to be a solid trade.
so losing pisa and witherspoon...who exactly plays LB for the rams nowdays? lol is lauarnitis supposed to do it by himself?
He's a fantastic coverage LB and is able to play in all three positions to a very high level. I don't think it's possible to get a better deal than the Eagles got, sadly :icon_sad:
