Adam Schefter of ESPN reports via Twitter that Texans TE Owen Daniels has been lost for the season with a knee injury. Daniels has a promising season ended early, in which he had 39 catches for 497 yards and 5 touchdowns. The team announced he was out for the game with a knee sprain but no further word has been given on the severity of the injury.

We just drafted 2 tight ends this off-season.

Open Daniels injured himself in a non-contact situation.

Something tells me they knew something was up with his knee.

and as much as this hurts, this isn't even the biggest question mark right now with the texans ............ the BIGGEST question mark is at running back. if slaton is done, can moats be THE guy? will he be able to be as productive when defense are game-planning him?

At the end of '08 he did a good job of filling in for Slaton on several drives, but I don't think he's really built to be the feature back. Then again, Slaton doesn't have the constant "3 here, 4 there" running style. It's boom or bust on his runs.

I think the Chris Brown experiment is over (or at least it should be), but Slaton and Moats can help each other out if we rotate them through. Moats is likely our best short-yardage back right now, although why Leach hasn't gotten any carries near the goal line is beyond me.

This'll leave a mark...could mean Andre Johnson becomes nastier than he already is...lol...

I'm gonna watch the tape later this week and see who really got more attention. From the stats it looks like David Anderson got more catches.

i hope you're right about chris brown.

i will be interested to see what kubiak does with slaton at this point. slaton had literally fumbled in almost every game this year and had been warned after almost every game that he needed to hang onto the ball. i'm not sure if he's going to get right back onto the field. what's the record for fumbles in a season by a running back?

8 games, 7 fumbles, and no real flash like he had last year. I remember he hit the wall last year (I think it was vs. Minnesota), Kubiak benched him for the rest of the game, then he exploded in the 2nd half of the season.

*about the RB fumble record, I can't find any non-QB fumble records.
