Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins wants to get in DeSean Jackson's face. Blessed with blazing speed, Jackson routinely has blown by defenders during his two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. But Jenkins believes the Cowboys can slow down Jackson and the Eagles' other speedy receiver, rookie Jeremy Maclin, on Sunday night by roughing them up. "Just be physical," Jenkins said Wednesday. "Go out and hit them in the mouth." Source: The Express News
you ask and you shall receive. for me myself i would love to suit up and knock the crap out of DeSean Jackson. I would like to dish punishment out on him all day.
LOL SITH, beastliest thing you've ever said.. back on topic.. Screw Yes! Mike Jenkins, this is exactly what I want you to be, get on the LOS and hit that dude from there on, You need to be physical instead of playing 10 yards off someone. Jenkins has decent speed, nothing like Jackson though, but I love hearing this out of our CB's though, especially Jenkins who has turned my opinion on him from beginning of the season. Let's go get em'!
you might get him at the line 9 out of 10 times, but sooner or later he is going to beat you or play you like a fool and burn you for 6.
I would LOVE to see Jenkins try and be physical with Jackson at the line. He might slow him a couple times, but when he misses, paydirt. I'm sure they will be providing over the top help against Jackson, so I see Celek and Maclin having a bunch of opportunities.
At first I would say that Dallas would have that covered Newman should be able to handle Maclin and Sensabaugh can take on Celek so Dallas could double up on Jackson. Then I noticed that would leave Hamlin helping Jenkins so Jackson should be able to score 2 TDs this game.
jackson can be shut down....they just cant let him get 30+ yards behind him. Most corners would have their way with im at the line if they could get their hands on him and have alot of help over the top.
i'm with K Train on this one. It's not like the Cowboys are going to be playing a lot of man to man coverage on Jackson so if they try to jam him at the line and miss, he's not going to be off to the races every time. i think jenkins has the right idea. most of desean's td's this year have been blown coverages or cases when he can get in the open field and can use his physical advantage. if the corner lays the jam, he can't get into his route quickly enough and mcnabb won't be able to hit him in the open field. and even if the cb whiffs on the jam, if the safety or other corners are in position, he won't hurt them deep.
